When you are a student at this campus, you can expect gaslighting and dismissal of your concerns because staff regularly ignore or downplay student complaints, making it difficult to raise issues effectively. Expect manipulative complaint processes - your complaints will be dismissed or minimised, the university protects their own interests rather than helping the student achieve a desirable outcome. During assessments and placement expect to be failed on subjective grounds e.g., your voice, and for your placements to involve bullying, professional misconduct, and intimidation.nExpect serious misconduct by educators to be ignored. If you report being groomed, bullied, or witness unethical treatment of patients, expect your complaint to be disregarded or blamed on you for making it. Expect discrimination based on gendered dress and for educators to make comments about you wearing uniform if it is a skirt even if it is the ACU uniform.nSome lecturers lack the competence to explain procedures or offer accurate clinical feedback when students raise concerns about observations. This could have resulted in kidney failure had a student believed the teacher about her assessment of their observations. This teacher claimed to be an experienced emergency nurse working at a major hospital.nACU will say they provide counselling services when you report concerns believing this to mean they acted appropriately/responsibly, failing to recognise how their actions directly contributed to the situation they provide counselling for.nBodies like TEQSA are ineffective, with complaints going unanswered and no student support regarding policy.nOnly ACU staff are protected by their Workplace Bullying Policy if any of this happens.nYou have been warned.
This is a beautifully placed Catholic University and the gardens are well maintained.The facilities are very modern and the architecture is brilliant,blending both the old and the new in a seamless manner.It is close to the two major hospitals,so it's nursing teaching facilities are available close for practical experience.
