This is a really interesting place with plenty of ideas to inspire people to enhance their own gardens with facinating Australian plants and trees. Full of birdlife, lovely walks and vistas, and a marvellous sense of peace amongst the river red gums. Great sculptures and outdoor design ideas. A very special place and a terrific find. Includes a lovely play area for kids. A really nice way to spend some time when in Shepparton.
A hill! In Shepparton! Never thought I'd see the day. The Shepparton botanical gardens are great, perfect place to go for a quiet walk. Scenery is beautiful with a variety of local flowers both on display in the garden as well as in the bush. There's a short forest trail, some ponds and small wetland environment, and some interesting animals to see if you're lucky. Not to mention there's a lookout where you can see everything, very cool. Absolutely free as well.
Good closed by botanic garden to walk near Shepparton , but can tell it is still in the early development process
This is a well planned, interesting Native Plant Botanical Garden. Enthusiastic volunteers work hard to control the damage done to plants by hungry native animals and pest species. The drought has taken its toll on some of the plants but those which have established themselves during the dry are enjoying recent rain and will grow rapidly. The children's garden is engaging and the recycling and sculpture used in the Garden are very attractive.
We had just the right weather on Monday to pack a lunch box and hed out to this wonderful place for Shepparton people friends and visitors to enjoy the outdoors. We walked the ground level, stopping at seats and covered facilities to eat lunch and listened to birds and frogs. Three o'clock came around very quickly then packed up and went home.
Amazing place. Beautiful views. Great for a casual stroll or a run. Great place for family outings. And the garden is beautiful as well!
A real surprise. Only early days but obvious this project is a winner. Regenerating a landfill into a landscape of Australian native plants. A number of walks are being developed but a stroll up to the Lookout provides an indication of what is to come and already presents a colourful landscape.
Is a beautiful space but under development. Don't expect a typical gardens because it isn't one. No grass or many place to sit and relax. The children's playground is actually interactive art pieces still nice though. I'm excited to see what they do with it in future.
Lovely Australian native gardens. Former tip site transformed and continues to be developed. Many trails to explore. Stunning view from the lookout. BYO picnic, seating available.Always something new to see and do.
Wasn't much of a fan. I usually love gadens but these were lacking of bbqs, shaded areas and lawns to sit on. And add to that, hardly any trees and mostly ground cover from what I saw. Not much appeal to kids or families
