This place is aways busy, that's a great sign.nnSome of the best pies I've had in North Qld, chunky steak and cheese is my favourite.nnFriendly staff, grate coffee and good pricing.
Found the pies to be delicious.nnUnfortunately the chunky pies were sold out so only got to try the mince ones this trip through. Beef, onion and tomato, Chilli Beef and Curry beef and they were very nice. Pastry was good not over flakey.nThe main reason for calling in however was to see if their apple turnover lived up to the hype and OMG was it yum. Also the vanilla was one of the best i have ever had.nnHighly recommend.
Dropped in early in morning and got a Breaky pie, meat, egg, cheese. Yum Also o large mug of Coffee. Tasted rich and delicious. Apparently coffee comes from Cairns. Unfortunately I can't remember name.
The Atherton Bakehouse is under new management and is vastly improved. Apart from the bakery side, they also have turned it into a nice little coffee shop with good decor. As usual, the baking is really good and the prices very competitive.
This is absolutely the best bakery I have been to in far north Queensland. The pies and pastries are made on quality ingredients and the flavours are delicious. Definitely worth stopping if you are anywhere near Atherton.
