After moving recently to athelstone, we thought we'd go walk down to the local and try their hot chips; terrible. The oil obviously hasn't been changed in a long time. They were old, limp and so disappointing. Threw them out... first time in my life I haven't been able to finish hot chips. Should have walked away when I noticed the apathy of the staff, not somewhere were people are passionate about providing good food. Hard pass.
Ordered fish and chips, crispy soft batter on fish and perfect chips. Will definitely come back. Yummmmy Food: 4/5
The best Hamburger with the lot for just $12 and the roll was so great... Not like cheap Maacas squeezy soft stuff... Wow it was more than a meal and I ordered by phone... Great service!!!

Tasty fish, crispy batter, crunchy chips. Good quality take away, prepared to order, not greasy, coleslaw on the side from a range of salads.
Disgraceful service and will never be back. Arrived at the counter and was greeted with "what do you want?". I said "excuse me?" and it was repeated. After politely advising that it may be more appropriate to say something like "hello, what would you like?", I was met with more attitude and abruptness. I asked to speak with the manager/owner who advised they don't have time to be courteous on a Friday...wow. I was then advised that "I have been in business 10 years" and basically you get what you get. As a fellow small business owner we are consistently amazed at the ineptitude and appalling customer service of some business owners. Business owners who are the first to put their hand out when the economy is unkind and they wonder why they get into trouble. We consciously support our local small businesses, even when it means paying a little more, but we certainly won't be back. People like that don't deserve our support.
Out of good courtesy posting 4 stars because they've done great chips for years, but please change back to your old chips/oil. The ones I ordered today were chalky, yellow, overly oily and noticeably lower quality potato.
Honestly the chips are always amazing. I've had to stray to others down the road when this shop is closed and I always regret it. They do really incredible chicken burgers ....just incredible.
