Love these guys. I regularly get a treatment here and they've helped enormously for sore muscles when I was running regularly. During my pregnancy they were great, mdd everything just that little bit easier to deal with!  Couldn't recommend them more.

Review for Assuage Massage Kingston- in particular Practitioner Greg Burgess

I came into the Assuage Massage practice for the first time with a migraine, simply expecting to get a little bit of tension relief in my neck. I have suffered increasingly frequent migraines for 14 years from a whiplash/sacral alar fracture injury in 2003. As a mum of small kids having a working life my headaches impede greatly on the running of my everyday. I have always tried to be proactive and have had literally hundreds of physio treatments, as well as Feldenkrais, regular massage, Osteopathy and Chinese Accupuncture and herbs. Frankly, I had given up on anything working particularly well. 

The treatment that I received at Assuage I found to be out standing in view of all the treatments that I have had- many of which were from really amazing experts in their fields. The critical difference that I found was that my experience of regular physio therapy appointments was 15 minutes of localised- not wholistic massage. So I had left Physio behind, and steered to places where massage was part of the treatment. 

At Assuage, Greg saw my critical state. He asserted that he thought that I should be able to heal from my injuries, given the right treatment. I told him I did not hold any hope for that as nobody had ever said this to me- basically keeping me dependant on treatment. Greg examined my posture carefully and proceeded to give me a full hour of very meticulous, methodical, strong physio therapy treatment. It included my massage and mobilisation of shoulders, head, neck (front and back) and lastly my spine.  

I was astounded when I got up. I found that my headache had gone. My cloudy vision was clear; my neck and occiput were freed up and I basically felt tender but freed up. 

On my way out I was handed a packet of bathsalts and instructed to bath. Which I did. A couple of days later I found Greg had emailed me asking my condition and summarised his advice of treatment progress.

In short, Assuage presented me with a completely different client model. It was comprehensive and generous. It’s well thought-out and did not cut any corners in the treatment length. It followed up not just to keep me as a patient but to actually look at changing my condition. In the following treatment, Greg told me that he was obliged to tell me that physio therapy ethics state that if there is no progress after 4 sessions, he would have to look at other specialists to improve my condition. I was amazed. 

I am daring to have hope of living headache free and I highly recommend the team at Assuage.
