This used to be one of the best Italian places I’d ever been. Obviously changed hands because the food tonight was borderline inedible, and the service was non existent. The prices and menu items remained the same, yet the food brought out wasn’t as described on the menu?? Bruschetta had supermarket minced raw garlic slathered on the bread, which wasn’t toasted and multigrain. Incredibly disappointing, and expensive.

Nice place with great foods..There people are very kind too. Hope soon can visit agian!

Went in thinking great, we’ll have a nice Italian lunch. I ordered the seafood risotto. Well what can I say.  The food was below par and the mussels still had their beards on!  Like seriously. When I told the waitress she just stared at me. No apology. No concern. Highly disappointing to say the least.

Excellent food and customer service!! Enjoyed my grandson’s first birthday at Assaggi last night with family. The lady is kind too and recommend excellent homemade desserts. will visit soon!!

The service and the food were equally disappointing. We ordered a fish dish and seafood pasta, both from the special board. There was no taste, fish was too old and dry and pasta was cooked too soft. Food quality is worst than some takeaway pizza shop.  We ordered a baby chino and it came with no marshmallows and my 2 years old was ready eye to see that.  Overall very disappointing experience specially for what we paid for it.  Please please please do not waste your time and money here.

Have eaten here in the past and the food, service and ambience was faultless.  Fast forward to our recent experience last week.  Was given a dirty champagne glass for starters, food was extremely ordinary and hopefully you will not need to use the bathroom while dining there.  Absolutely filthy and the used Bocconcini plastic tub as a rubbish bin just topped it off.  So disappointing, will not be going back!!

Extremely disappointing experience. Service and food terrible. This used be a great authentic Italian, instead we got our pizza over an hour after we ordered and it was very average. The rest of the food was simply inedible. What a waste of money and time. There's no way an Italian chef cooks like that and how can they offer that service in an affluent area?

Every time my family and I have been to this restaurant and dined, it has always been with great pleasure and a comfortable feeling that we are getting a real taste of Italy. The owner is the most wonderful lady and she really cares about the food that is put on the tables for the customers. The food is always of an extremely high standard and I still maintain that they have the best pizzas in Melbourne. :
