Ashford Avenue Family Practice was founded in May 2015. It is owned by Doctor David Le and Susan Sunwoo.

We provide a number of services such as women's health, paediatic health, men's health, mental health, sexual health, WorkCover, cosmetic injectables.

Home visits and nursing home visits are also available.

They were very good and attentive doctors 3 to 4 years ago. After COVID they increased fees and doesn't look very concerned about patients. It seems that they only want to see patients very quick and get the next...$$$. Very disappointing as I changed my good GP. Anyway is never late to come back to my old GP.
Had an appointment with Dr renae Lawrence via video call and couldn't proceed as my daughter who the appointment was for wasn't present. Asked if it could be changed to my name and appointment still be about my daughters upcoming surgery but that couldn't do either as if the appointment is for myself it has to be about myself due patient confidentiality. They couldn't accommodate that I wanted an appointment to discuss my daughters upcoming surgery without her present as it's extremely hard to do that when my 18month old is with me. Then this situation was discussed with other doctors at the surgery and mentioned to my husband during his appointment later in the week. Very disappointed in the breach of confidentiality!
The receptionist made my eight year old daughter and I wait on the road due to covid and not allowing patients to wait inside. We almost go run over by the cars. They were already running 15mins late. Then they tell you to go wait in the car and “phone” you to minimise contact, and told us we needed a negative covid test before we could go inside. I wasted a whole hour and didn’t get to see any doctor. We were not told this prior by Dr Lawrence. Really poor service. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Downside is that the new drs move on after a few months. I have had 4 doctors over 2 years and feel like a number rather than a patient. After years of suffering from a recurrant medical condition and getting no where. I found a new practice and the Dr referred me straight away to a specialist, who found my problem and having surgery in May. This should have been done by any of the 4 ashford avenue drs I saw. 2 years of suffering for no reason. Not impressed.
For many people family GP is the closest person of the family. When we moved far from our old house,We decided to choose Dr Sue Sunwoo at ASHFORD AVE MEDICAL CENTER very close to our work , as our family GP , the one we would feel comfortable , rely on and trust in. I started suffering from a urinary infection during the public holiday and tried to make an appointment with her as soon as I was back to work Tuesday.The receptionist told me that Thursday is the only day she is working this week. I was in pain and asked for another female doctor. She gave me an appointment for Wednesday for 11:45. I asked her to call me if any cancellation for the She didn't and I was suffering the whole Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Although the center it is only 2 minutes driving from our work, I was stuck at work and got there at 12:30.The receptionist said” doctor is having lunch, you are late so your appointment is cancelled. I should've charged you $30.00 for not calling to cancel but next time we will” .Anyway no way to see me on Wednesday. She made an appointment for 1:pm next Monday and again I went home with pain having more Ural myself. Thursday back to work with pain till 3:00 pm when I finally could run away from work to the center with the hope of seeing my own doctor between other patients. I told the receptionist that I need to see Sue as I am in pain. She said " doctor just finished for today and I can make an appointment for you" .I said "Please let her know I am here , in pain and she will see me. The receptionist gave up the way I was serious for seeing my doctor. She came back and said again that she can make an appointment today. I tried to call my family doctor myself, Sue, Sue , and while I couldn't believe what I was hearing ,she was saying" I am not seeing anyone" . She came out of her room and yelling that she is not seeing me , you can go to the next door . I told her that I thought we have chosen you as our family doctor and you do care how much pain I have been through. She didn't care and said if it was urgent you can go to emergency departments. I was so peiced off that I couldn't tell her I was insisting to stay with one center and one doctor and it wasn't a real emergency department case to see any doctor in the emergency as I used to be a midwife and knew how it will be going to an emergency department and saying I need some antibiotics prescription for my infection and pain. I left there while she was still yelling. I felt like they are doing business more than providing a health care center for people.
Came here after being recommended by a friend for my baby's 12 month vaccination and as soon as we walked in the place was lovely as were all the staff. I was looking for a local practice that did the 2 jabs at once instead of 1 at a time. The doctor and nurse both gave her the needle at the same time in her arms. Everything went so well and they are wonderful with babies. If anyone ever gave this practice a poor score I'd be very surprised. They were also running on time which I checked before I went in. We were seen straight away. It's hard to find a good doctor and Dr Susan, her nurse and Michelle the front-of-house lady was amazing! Thank you so much!
I have always found the doctors here to be thorough in examination, kind and caring. My four year old son and myself have both attended the practice. Would highly recommended.
Great doctors, always make sure to go through all the details and take all the tests needed. However the wait times are over the top. I understand patients with more serious illnesses must be seen first. But to wait over 45mins after my appointment time EVERY time is a joke.
The doctors are nice.... Shame i had to wait 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time with a crazy 2 year old. I want to keep going there but the wait times are ridiculous. The doctor actually asked a patient he was seeing to wait outside whilst he took a phone call.
I love doctor Susan, doctor David and all ashford avenue staff I see them as family! I’ve been going to Ashford Avenue for 4 years now and wouldn’t go to anyone else. They cover everything they answer all derails and will go out of there way for you! Thank you Ashford Avenue staff! :
