We cannot fault this B&B! The rooms had everything we needed, were very warm in the middle of winter, and the living/dining room area had brilliant views over the valley. Garry made the most unbelievably scrumptious breakfasts which set you up for the day. He grows most of his own food and his jams and sauces are excellent. We took a few home with us! The fire pit is a wonderful place to relax in the afternoons and evenings.nDover is a great place from which to explore south eastern Tasmania and Ashdowns is a comfortable, happy place to stay.
Our group of four two couples had the most comfortable and relaxing stay here for two nights last week. Gary is an outstanding host! Our rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable. We were able to relax in the lounge area in the evening after returning from the local RSL where we had a delicious dinner. The breakfasts Gary provided for us each morning were amazing! Ashdown’s is definitely on our “we’ll be back” list.
Gary is an exceptional host for our Tasmania trip. He was very welcoming on arrival, offered to help us make reservation for dinner coz there aren’t many places that open for dinner during the weekdays, gave us lots of recommendations on places to go and even made us scones with his delicious homemade jam which we ended up buying a jar of.nnThe property has a beautiful view of the mountains with lots of farm animals in the field for us to enjoy as we eat by the window side. Gary surprised us with a fruit-mix yoghurt followed by a large plate of delicious breakfast served with tea and coffee. I’ve never done bed and breakfast before but Gary has certainly set the bar very high.nnWe wish we had chosen to stay for a couple more nights before heading to Hobart. For anyone looking for an accommodation around Dover, I highly recommend Ashdowns of Dover Bed and Breakfast. 10/10 across the board
We would highly recommend Ashdowns of Dover. Our room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated with a lovely outlook of paddocks and hills.nOur host Gary welcomed us with homemade scones,jam and cream on arrival.nBreakfast was delicious and more than we could eat.nNothing was too much trouble.
Great bed and breakfast in a good location at Dover.nThe rooms were huge and clean the breakfast was delicious.nnThey have sheep and chickens, which our son loved.nnThe host Gary was fantastic. Made you feel at home, very friendly and amazing knowledge of the area.nnHighly recommend.
