Always a great place to go for the food, atmosphere and most importantly the customer service. Such great staff. Today the lamb shank pie was next level tasty.
Cute little joint. Very busy, got there about 8.10-8.20 for some dinner.nThe waitstaff need a raise. The ladies working in the dining room where we sat did NOT STOP for a second. They were constantly on the go, busy lil bees.nAnd super sweet and attentive, as well.nnThe food was delicious. The schnitzel is like a kiev and schnitzel had a baby. It's amazing.nThe pork belly was cooked really well, just missing the crispy skin this time, unfortunately. But the person ordering has had it here before and said it was crispy the first time, so it was probably more happenstance than anything else.
Had dinner with a group of friends and we had a ball.nThe place was busy and we still had great service from the staff.nThe Ascot Vale Hotel has a good uplifting vibe with its aesthetics.nEveryone was talking but surprisingly we could hear unlike some other venues where all noise becomes one and you can't hear yourself think.nFood was great, no-one complained and no-one left anything on their plate.nMy steak was nLooking forward to getting back there
A cross between a pub and five star dining.nThursday dinner, we got in early which was a smart move as it turns out it's popular.nnDining area out the rear with standard pub like setting in the front.nnThe customer service was top notch and reminded me of being in a five star restaurant.nnI got the cheese burger which was a solid constructed effort and everything you want in a cheese burger.nnThe side of chips were the thin McDonalds style and lacked substance.nnMaria and Sam reported there steaks were excellent and Kimmies parma likewise.nnParking is a bit tight around the area.nWait times for food was good and prices average.
Tap beers were the highlight, flavours of each beer were distinct and smooth drinking.nnNothing wrong with service, but might have been a little too casual and lacked warmth.nnBuilding is well refurbished and maintained. Outdoor seating was as pretty but some heating would be nice when temperature drops in the evening.nnWent there for steak night, salad and fries were above average, sauces were packed with flavour and delicious.nnSteak themselves, doness was precise. However heat might have been too high, some parts of the edges were very burnt, black and bitter.nnCharged full price for beers during happy hour, I wonder if it's because discount was not available outside bar area.
