The Sunday market outside the Arts Centre offers a motley collection of goods for sale. Some really nice, like handmade cards, great photographs and lovely drawings of Melbourne landmarks and some good food offerings. However the rest is just terrible tat, ugly ugly cheap artwork, jewellery etc etc. God knows what the tourists think because let's face it the overpriced items are aimed at them. However i do regret, many many years ago not buying a particular black and white photograph. It was of a cross, within a church I think, at night with snow falling. I kick myself every time I think about it and every time I happen to be in vicinity on a Sunday I search for the photograph but always in vain. 26.2 had browse before event nearby, only about 12 stalls which is a shame as I remember when used to be on lawn area and along Southbank boulevard as well.
Great spot and wonderful handmade market.
The markets offer a range of locally made handcrafts, artworks, jewellery, clothes, bags and more. We often go here to support local businesses and purchase gifts when needed. We were very happy to hear it's recently reopened after closing due to Covid.
Shops had variety and generally pleasant
The Art Centre Southbank Market was nice to meander along on my way to catch a tram. It still has a long way to go to get back to to pre-COVID standards.
Really enjoyed the Melbourne Arts Centre market today. Great for Christmas presents too. Will have to make the effort to go into town on a Sunday more often!
Lot of goodies, great place to get unique gifts.
Love coming to this market. My favourite stall is No Worries Curries. The best curry powder blends. Amazing chai blend.
My first visit since the lockdown ended. So disappointing. Not many traders or food outlets.
Interesting selection of handicrafts and vendors, right next to Flinders street station. Good selection of food and beverages.
