Awesome place, staff extremely helpful. Went out of their way to make me feel welcome and to get what they didn't have in stock asap...
This is one of the best independent music stores I've ever been to. The team are always friendly and helpful and even gave my 2 year old a personal demo of some guitars on one visit, and let him 'play' the electric drums on another. I can see us buying plenty more bits and pieces of gear and instruments here, especially over the next 10 years as the kids start to learn properly.
Not only do they have a great selection of supplies and support the customer service is amazing. I went in needing a cable for my new guitar, not really knowing much about guitars and was helped so much. When I said I couldn’t afford the cheapest I was a dollar off they had they gave me a lowered price. Upset I didn’t get the man’s name that helped me but I am so grateful to the team.
Love this Shop been looking for a nice Guitar for ages, David Scarr was so good in helping me find it . It was love at first sight when he showed me a beautiful Cole Clark He advised me to think on it overnight to be sure it’s what I wanted it. I went back next day and put it on the Old Fashioned Lay-by Not many Sales People do that … I’m impressed and will recommend him to my friends .
Struck a Social Chord Although I had always wanted to buy a guitar, and having sold one to survive that my Aunty gave to me a long time ago, I never really seemed to muster up the courage to step into a music store to check it out. Ultimately I decided that a guitar would bring me much joy, being a single human but a cat, bird, and plant father, and if I managed to become good at it, it would most certainly bring others joy by listening to good music. When I finally decided to purchase a guitar against the guilt that I felt for spending money, I walked into Arties at Aspley to have a chat to the team. Honestly, they couldn't have been more polite about me being a complete novice when it comes to purchasing a musical instrument. The three gentlemen in the store all worked cohesively with each other, and as I found out later, it turns out that they have no store manager. They seem to all be at the same level and manage the business effectively as if it were their own. And it shows! If this strategy works well, then perhaps we need multiple Prime Ministers so they can all keep each other accountable? This is not the place where you will find a pushy sales person breathing down your neck, it's more of a casual, relaxed atmosphere, that allows the everyday rising star, or professional "artiste" to explore the store in their own time and in their own good measure. Feeling as though I was born at a disadvantage because of my height, finger size, finger length, and yes... other lengths could be improved, I was struggling to find a guitar that I could wrap my fingers around the neck to reach the strings. Previously I had bought a guitar online, an "Alpha", which was quite fine except for the fact that my fingers really struggled to tip the strings. I agonised about this for years and finally decided to get some lessons. It was only after picking up the teachers guitar that I knew there was another option out there. A thinner neck, lower bridge, and smaller body, was exactly what I needed. Being a bigger gent, one may assume that a bigger guitar is more appropriate for my needs. Not so. The team at Arties were able to guide me directly to the right guitar, at the right price, and consummate to my needs. I felt comfortable at every step, and even though I suffer social anxiety due to years of being abused at the airport, I was made to feel at ease in the store. I ended up purchasing an English-made guitar, a "Tanglewood Crossroads Super Folk C/E" acoustic guitar. It is super light, easy to hold, feels nice under the hands, the strings are softer than others to play, the neck is thinner, and the strings are closer together, and this makes it easier to learn new chords. I must admit, due to past trauma, names of products and brands create anxiety and stress for me, so when I saw the word "crossroads", I felt a tad anxious. This word brings about negative triggers for me, but in saying this, the team at Arties were so polite and friendly, and such a wealth of knowledge, that they assisted in eliminating the anxiousness I had about spending money, and about the anxieties. No one would be able to see the struggle inside of me when it comes to something simple as seeing brand labels, and it's not something that's easily shared. And so what does anxiety and social discomfort have to do with purchasing a guitar? Everything! Buying a guitar is confidence boosting 101! As someone who has always given 110% in everything I do, and having personally served about 6 million people at the airport in a nine year period, i surprisingly find myself alone more often than not. Not many people visit me, so having a guitar is a way to reclaim who I am, find myself again, and feel a sense of joy where it was lacking. Thank you to Artie, who has passed this fine earth and for leaving behind a jewel amongst the big corporate thorns, and a legacy that is respectful and thoughtful to carry forward your good name. In the words from an Offspring album... "music soothes even the savage beast". Thank you legends.
Quick efficient service by people with an open mind, thank you again James for the service and discount, if you need anything related to music this place is the place to go.
I came here looking for gear to help with get a certain sound on my amp and the people here were so helpful and charming. the service from staff is the best i've ever seen in my life. they helped me with my problem and even found a better solution that saved me $20, i'd recommend to anyone interested in music.
Travelled from the other side of town to try a specific guitar they had in stock. After minutes of arriving they shut the doors and kicked us out despite their opening hours stating they close at 3, this was around 12. An attendant was getting ready for me the plug the guitar in to try but the Manager said nope you need to leave right now, no explanation given. Was ready to buy the guitar just wanted to try it, was treated like our patronage meant nothing, terrible customer service.
Mike is a great salesmen, he is helpful friendly and full of knowledge about the many musical instruments and is willing to go the extra mile to help out customers
Extremely helpful, staff were very kind. not the best accomodation for drummers but I play guitar so I don't care
