Arndell school was suggested as a school for my son to help with behavioral and emotional issues, and to be supportive with his multiple diagnosis and needs. At first they seemed caring, understanding and supportive, however as time went by it became apparent that they man-handle children and use barbaric and outdated methods of managing challenging behavior. Never has my son been forcefully grabbed and carried out of a class room by a principal and teacher, in fact to my knowledge they are not permitted to grab children at any school. my son has been traumatized by this school and his school refusal has now worsened after an incident. My son was also excluded from attending a school trip as they did not 'trust' him as his attendance was not good enough. This of course was a punishment by the principal Luke and did not make any sense to myself, my son or his behavior support specialist.nIf you are considering this school, please be aware that your child is likely to witness, and experience being grabbed and taken or locked in rooms in isolation distressed.
Arndell has been an absolute god send for our family. They are the only school who have been able to proactively and meaningfully help my son through his diagnosis and provide a safe place where he feels respected and welcomed.nnThey genuinely care for each child and treat them with respect which is not something my son had felt in a previous school.nnBefore Arndell I felt lost, overwhelmed and distraught that my son wasn't supported to be part of a school environment. To see him actually learning and engaging is incredible, and even when there are emotional regulation issues, the teachers and support staff are able to work through it with him. He has thrived and is more able to identify when he's feeling overwhelmed.nnI only wish we could stay at the school for his whole schooling life.
teacher and student is at war, and teacher would pick up every little thing to provoke the students, so they can discharge the student for the day.
