We used to visit many years ago and so happy it's still open. We shared the chicken pizza and just loved it! There are many gorgeous huts to sit under and enjoy a meal and the fairy lights underneath are a nice touch Many walking tracks to explore and one leads to a pond filled with turtles and ducks and a water feature. It's so cure watching the turtles swim up to greet you by popping their heads out of the water. Very peaceful location to sit back and relax and enjoy the lush leafy surroundings and birdlife. Can't wait to return. PS easy access for all
Fabulous lunch. Hubby had a super fresh prawn pizza and I had the green goodness bowl. Beautifully fresh, tasty and well presented food. The service was very friendly and we loved the funny yellow duck theme. Definitely worth going to.
Beautiful setting with tables and seating placed spaciously apart amongst thatched huts under a canopy of rain forest trees and paper barks beside Arkarra Lagoon. Coffee was great with a variety of cakes, scones and slices. There is also a sumptuous lunch menu. There are lovely walks through the forest canopy to the Lagoon
There's nothing not to like here. I've been four times now. First time was with a group and no one in the 20 or so people had a complaint. The open air seating in the bush setting is beautiful. If I had to find a negative, I guess a windy or very wet day it would not be so nice. I went once when it was cooler and drizzling but we were quite comfortable in our hut with a warm drink and yummy food. If you're scared of birds it's probably not the best place for you as we had a few different birds hanging around. There is a lovely short walk too. Parking: Gravel carpark right near venue.
What a great little spot. Friendly service and amazing places to sit and relax. U may have to book if you want certain areas. We only had coffee and cake but both were good. Then we went for a nice walk through the gardens. Parking: Well shades
Had lunch at Akara today. I had the prawn and mango salad. Enjoyed it very much. The boys had burgers and thought they were a little overpriced. The grounds are lovely and enjoy a walk around after lunch.
I am so disappointed with Akarra Gardens, they obviously overbooked or underestimated by having a 'High Tea' for Mother's Day and the fact that it was Mother's Day in its self.. We booked for 11am, we were made to wait approximately 30mins before we were seated at our table, then waited over 2hrs for our meal.. While the meals themselves were excellent, they were not worth the 2hr+ wait.. The price of the meals demanded better service.. Definitely will be giving Akarra Gardens second thoughts whether to ever attend again...
Just loved it here. Good menu, lovely surrounds and the sounds of birds in the parklands as you enjoy your lunch. P.S, if you're going to whinge about some items not being available, maybe consider that we're going through massive supply issues at the moment and it's not the business's fault. This was our lunch
Beautiful find! Dog friendly, awesome gluten free coeliac meals and amazing chocolate brownies!! After lunch take a walk around the garden/lagoon. Repeated visits during our week’s visit to Hervey Bay! Highly recommended
I love good food and I love letting people know when I find a great place to experience good food. My friends "THIS IS IT". This is the place to go for amazing fresh food and fabulous service. Today I found myself in the most difficult situation I could have hoped for. My meal was so exceptional and tasty, but my wife's looked just as good. I was keen for her to be full so I could finish hers as well as mine, but I didn't want to rush mine, or her to miss out on the awesome meal in front of her.... Ohhhh the quandary I found myself in...lol Amazing, simply amazing. Will definitely return and give this place a go again. Keen to work my way through the menu. I had a read of some of the other naysayers reviews, and most of the negative comments are from one group who were encouraged to jump on board and fan someone's opinion. Sad really. All I can say... Is look at the meals photos and know that they tasted better than they looked ,and they looked exceptional. Grilled Barramundi.. and Buttermilk Fried Chicken Salad. Midweek lunch is the best time to visit Enjoy.
