This is the official page for the Apostolic Church Australia
The Apostolic Church Australia came into being as a result of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Wales in the early years of the twentieth century. The Lord raised up a group of people who shared a common experience of God’s saving power and were empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve Jesus Christ. They also saw in the Scriptures a biblical pattern of leadership and government designed to equip all God’s people for service and ministry.
The first generation of Apostolic Church members was intent on mission and took every opportunity to communicate a life-changing message. By the late 1920s the Apostolic Church had been planted in Australia and began with series of crusade meetings in each of our state capitals, with significant demonstrations of the power of God to heal.
A church with its beginnings so identified with a sovereign move of God is well placed celebrate the elements of its heritage. The Apostolic Church Australia remains unashamedly biblical, pentecostal and missions-oriented.
From its inception we have been motivated by Ephesians 4:11-12,
“He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.”
This passage of Scripture inspired the slogan, “building lives and transforming communities”, which summarises the mission and vision of Apostolic Church Australia.
As a movement we are passionate about seeing individual lives connecting with Christ, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, equipped to fulfil their God given purpose and released in mission for the glory of God. As each local Apostolic Church stays committed to equipping and releasing, there will be no end to the number of lives that will be built and the number of communities that will be transformed in Australia and beyond.
The words “building lives” encapsulate so many of the activities of our churches; from worship services to training courses, whilst the words “transforming communities” denotes the church’s involvement in outreach locally and globally.
Our National Leadership Team (NLT) oversees national initiatives that empower local churches in their endeavours to build lives and transform communities. Our Ministry Internship program and Mentoring for Leaders program are examples of NLT’s commitment to building lives, whilst the Apostolic Community Care Network and Apostolic Global Operations form part of our commitment to transform entire communities.
The Apostolic Church Australia is committed to playing a vital role as a significant part of the Body of Christ in positively impacting Australia and beyond for Christ.
