Well this is now the second time they have helped my Mum find her forever. The first was Buddy and my goodness he was wonderful. Now she has Marley, he's been with her 3 weeks now and he's such a handsome fella. He has given her the companionship and purpose she needed, and he will be so loved. Many happy years to come for the both of them. The staff there are kind, compassionate and do their utmost to help rehome the animals that come to them.
New updated premises, was there to adopt a dog. It was a new experience for all. Outcome found out my dog needs work which was encouraging to know. Experience handlers with the best interest of the welfare of the animal. Try to adopt first before purchasing elsewhere even tho my outcome didn't work but for others it's will be an uplifting joy of rescuing an fur baby with an forever home no fault to them. ‍
Tried to a adopt a dog but they make it really difficult. Website isn't kept up to date. I called about a particular dog asking was it still available they said yes and told to complete the application online. I did this and no one got back to me. I called several times and was fobbed off. Just told to apply online. I am an experienced dog owner especially with difficult, traumatized dogs. My last dog had anxiety and health issues including insulin dependant diabetes and I cared for him until the end. Really wanted to give another dog a second chance but apparently not with the AWL.
I just adopted a beautiful little dog from AWL. She is very traumatized from being kept by irresponsible owners who badly neglected her. AWL started the rehabilitation process including much needed vet treatment. Awl were very supportive and gave me as much information as they could including tips on how to look after and support her while she adjusts to her new environment. Having to apply online and waiting to be contacted if selected can seem a little frustrating but it's done with the intention of finding the right home for the animals. I am very pleased with the care and attention AWL has provided especially Amanda. The best tip I can give is check the website every day and apply immediately if you see a dog that you feel is a good fit. Provide as much information as possible so AWL can make a good match. I definitely recommend AWL as I now have a beautiful little companion who is constantly by my side.
Dog passed away. Dropped him off for cremation and was told 3-5 days for processing and I would be contacted when he's ready for collection. After paying the deposit and wanting to pay for the full package that we wanted but told not to because they couldn't confirm availability. I received a call a full week later demanding more money to even begin the process. I reviewed the invoice they sent and it had the incorrect pets name attached. I tried to call for confirmation but by the time I had read the invoice it was 4:48pm and they close at 4:30pm. I payed the invoice the next day and waited an entire week without any contact from the AWL. No confirmation of payment received or anything. I called them for an update, granted on a weekend but all they could give me was a promise to call me back the following day Monday. After no contact from AWL all day, at 4pm I finally called them only to hear that my dog, that I have waited over three weeks to collect, was in fact ready but they are closed and I would be unable to come in and collect the ashes. So why wasn't I notified that A, my dog was ready for collection or B, called when I was told I would be. This is an absolute disgrace. update: picked up the ashes and the order is correct. Shame the whole interaction was tarnished by the poor communication throughout the process.
Drove down from the country to drop off blankets in the hope we could look at adopting a dog. Wouldn't let us even look and see anything today. What a shame, their system is failing their animals as we were hoping to take a new family member home today. 1 dog missing out on a home. Looks like we won't be having any more rescue dogs. Too hard to to adopt now days.
AMAZING ORGANISATION. We have gotten 2 of our fur babies from AWL in the last 3 years. AWL is absolutely amazing from the moment you pull in to the carpark to the moment you get home with your new family member. Unfortunately, we have recently had to use their cremation service on Shadow, our beloved 11yo family member, and their service provided, and they way our beloved Shadow was returned to us was OUTSTANDING.
Wonderful experience boarding our cat! Staff were lovely, cattery was clean and spacious, and our cat was so well looked after. Would definitely return.
Our 2 cats and 1 dog spent a week here. The cats were very chilled and enjoyed it. Our dog was very nervous for a couple of days because he's never been away from home before. But by the end, he came out of his shell. Seems very happy. Thanks heaps to everyone for looking after them so well
We picked up Bella 2 weeks ago, and while the bigger cats are taking their time adjusting to Bella's confidence and playfulness, the humans are fighting over who gets to have the next cuddle. We were very impressed with the housing and set up at Wingfield. The staff were lovely and obviously knew the cats who were in their care and we're able to guide our family to some suitable potential adoptees. Animals were well cared for, well fed and happy in their lovely temporary homes. Please consider adopting if your home and heart has space
