DO NOT USE. They overcharge for their services. If you do use them, make sure you get a QUOTE in writing before engaging their services. We engaged AMPM to clear out our gutters on our high set house in Moranbah. They attempted to charge us $1000 for this. They claimed it took 2 men 8 hours EACH to do the job. When I got the bill this seemed excessively high and when I queried it to their credit, they did reduce the invoice to $877. However, $877 still seemed excessively high. I had expected a gutter clean to be no more than $400. I asked around to see what other people would charge as I thought maybe I had an unrealistic expectation of the cost and just didn’t realise how much these things cost. Two reputable locals quoted me that it would take 2 people around 3 hours at $55/hr each. So around $330 in total. I rang Lola, who runs the business with her husband, and explained that I felt the invoice was overpriced and that I'd had two independent locals quote me around $330 and I was prepared to pay between $3-500, which I felt was a very fair market rate. She told me she wasn't authorised to negotiate the price and she'd have to pass it on to her manager who would call me back. No one ever called me back. I later found out that Lola does in fact run the company with her husband so I don't understand why she couldn't just discuss it with me herself. So after zero communication from them, I now get an email threatening to take legal action if we don’t pay. This is ridiculous. I am not even refusing to pay the invoice, I just wanted to discuss what I thought was a fair price. I rang them to discuss my concerns and they never got back to me. They are clearly very poor at communication with their customers. We have decided to just pay the invoice rather than waste our time trying to negotiate on the extra $377 we feel is over fair value. And we will share our experience. We will never use this company again. I know of another local who used them for a different job but had the same experience with them over charging for the job. They too will never use them. I do not recommend them.
