It's very famous bar! Atmosphere is good but I am not satisfied so much
Had our wedding cocktail hour here for two hours between ceremony and the reception. The staff were lovely and easy to work with. Food and drinks were delicious and many guests commented on how delicious and well presented it all was. I am so grateful as it was the perdect addition to wonderful day. The make over of the venue is fun and glamorous and they opened it just for my 2 hour event - a highly recommended venue for any occasion.
0 star I went there for my birthday, I live nearby so arrived once they opened. Around 20-30people before me in the guest list queue. But I waited at least half hour the queue wasn’t even move because many people doesn’t have guest list or booth talked to the security and security just let them in. I was getting tired so went to ask, but their securities were the less respectful most rude I have ever meet. Discrimination against customers is all I can describe this place. All you want is a good night, and this place has multiple ways to ruin it. So if you were planning something, never count this one.
I am usually pretty picky when it comes to clubs and music, and I was a bit reluctant to go to Alumbra because I pictured it full of stuck up locals and students... instead I have to admit this venue isn’t bad at all. The place has two main rooms plus VIP room upstairs, one spinning hip-hop/rnb and the other one deep house/techno, slightly more commercial than underground, but still pretty good. Crowd is more than decent, with many nice looking girls keen to dance and have a laugh, if not even hitting on you. The guys where cool as well, and I didn’t have a problem all night. Recommended
First time back in a year & was surprised by the new fitout. The place looks amazing, service is as good as ever though I'm not a big fan of R&B the crowd was into it & the general mood was upbeat & fun. This is a high end club, so don't be surprised at the cost of drinks, your choices are top shelf & above. We were lucky enough to be invited to one of the VIP areas, absolutely mind blowing private lounge with personalised service. A great place if you've got a special function, I believe that the VIP areas can be booked in advance. When in Melbourne, its a great place for both the young & the young at heart.
Good club, enjoyable even to a person who doesn't particular seek such a scene. Live music is limited to around opening time with R&B/Hip-hop taking the centre stage as the club becomes more packed. Has an outdoor area if the music is too much a little food is also served here. Overall, a good place to have a night out with friends.
I've been here a number of times and it's been okay, music is good. However I went 2 weeks ago and my drink was spiked and ended up extremely sick and ill that night. Apparently security were with me when friends found me but left immediately after my friends came and didn't even bother calling an ambulance even though I was apparently frothing from the mouth.
Bouncers here were absolute trouble makers and think they're kings. Door staff was reasonable friendly, we hired a booth and payed $1000 and they didn't let my two female Bestfriend's in because one of them had hay fever. The bouncers were constantly making smart ass comments to the boys we were with to try and start a fight. Also music wasn't great.
Fantastic venue and such a great Events crew for our recent corporate function. Dimity and Panos are absolutely amazing! Excellent communication and when asked, nothing was ever too much of a hassle. Dimity was great in the lead up to our corporate event and both she and Panos were very accommodating hosts on the evening. Music was fantastic and had everyone such a great time. Thank you for making it such a smooth flowing event that will definitely go down as one of the best nights we've had in a long time! Cheers!
Good music and stuff inside the club but I have to say the bouncers ruined the night for everyone. They were extremely rude and probably need a bit of training in how to talk to ladies and not treat us like trash... I had a stamp to come into the club, my friend was asked to call someone to get him in and as I was waiting the bouncers forced me to go back into the club even though I explained why I was outside. When walking back inside, instead of asking "do you have a stamp" the door people make you feel like a criminal Long story short - management, invest in customer service. Especially the first point of contact is very crucial
