It’s a wonderful place for cakes and pastries. I ordered bday cake custard cream sponge cake for my wife and it was lovely. Everyone loved the cake, it was soft and very tasty. I couldn’t post a pic of the cake as it has my wife’s name on it. The other pastries are really nice too and some of them are very different to the other bakeries. They have a good varieties of cakes readily available in the store and only for the mud cake it has to be per ordered by a week. I would rate this place very high and would definitely recommend it for cakes.
I went to Allan’s bakery today to get some of their delicious cakes, but they’re sadly a bit busy and poor Jeremy was under the pump. But when he severed us today he a big smile and was really nice even though you could see him under the pump. I’m really like Jeremy he’s just has this nice warm charm.

This business sells THE very best Apricot Danish pastries have ever tasted. The quality of their bakery items is consistent and the fact that the shop is always busy indicates that others are as impressed as I am with their products & service.
I ordered this vanilla sponge cake online, and picked it up this morning for my daughter’s 2nd birthday today. The ordering process was so easy, and the young guy at the shop when we collected was extremely friendly and helpful and even offered to write a message on the cake, for free. I modified the decorations myself - but was so happy with it all. The cake was delicious as well. Really great value for money. Will definitely order from Allans Cakes again.
One of the better sausage rolls I've had in awhile. The pastry was next level, it was super flaky and had many layers of lamination. Yes it was oily, but how else do you get it to melt and flake away with each bite? The sausage was a bit softer than you'd expect in a sausage roll, and it does require a bit more spice. Tomato sauce is required on this one. The meat pie was pretty darn good too, using the same flaky pastry on the top and a short crust pastry on the bottom. The pie filling was good, with a nicely spiced mince, no lumps of corn flour or gristle to be seen. Tomato sauce is not needed with the pie.
My favourite bakery in Melbourne ever since I moved here in 2017. I used to work close to Allan's Bakery but I've moved jobs since 2019 and I miss being close to this place. It's just good delicious old fashioned pies, cakes and pastries. Well priced and lovely service. As I don't live close at all I live an hour away I like to buy one of their frozen packs of sausage rolls the best here to keep at home. Bargain at $18 for 6!
Very busy and for good reason. - prices are fair and you have a good range to choose from. - As the place can get very busy please be patient with the staff.
I just purchased 2 mud cakes for my son’s birthday and the customer service I received when ordering and the follow up communication was outstanding. Jeremy went above and beyond to make the cakes perfect right down to the font chosen for the message. It was very thoughtful and I will always recommend Allan’s wherever I can. I also have to mention how delicious these cakes are, if you’re looking for where to buy your next cake for any occasion, head to Allan’s, you will not be disappointed!
