Located inside Spice Alley with outdoor sitting. This was my first time been here. Taste just average, nothing special as a fast food. Texture was dried and hard. Price is consider pricey, small amount in takeaway plate for dine in/TA as well. I would prefer having meal in other cafe/restaurant next time.
Roti Canai with Singaporean Sambal Prawns were so good! The Sambal Prawns were not spicy, but so flavourful. The Roti were so crispy, Sayur Lodeh veggie curry was so flavourful, and all this combo just works ! Hainanese Chicken Rice was good not the best I’ve had, but it was decent. And that Kechap Manis Squid from New Ginger & Spice part of Alex Lee Kitchen. Service was quick too & please make sure you listen to your order number.
Nasi Lemak with curry chicken was $15.90 tasted quite average, lacked flavour. The Hainanese chicken rice $14.90 the meat was tender. Gado Gado $13.90 was a disappointment, bland, soggy and served hot which was surprising. Better food elsewhere.
Singaporean hawker street foods heaven!! Yummy Hainanese chicken rice - rice is cooked with chicken so very flavourful, chicken is tender, chicken soup on the side is delicious and my favourite was the ginger chilli sauce. This sauce goes so well on rice and the chicken itself. Char kway tweo is quite average - stir fried flat rice noodles with chicken, egg, chinese sausages with beansprouts with dark sweet soy sauce. What I liked most about it was the balance in flavour, not too salty or bland, but the rice noodles were a bit oily but It’s understandable because that’s how stir fry should be. Great experience overall as food was ready approximately 5 minutes after ordering but everything tasted fresh and hot.
Extensive menu. Good food but serving size is a bit less compared to other Singapore/Malaysian shops. Also wish they didn’t put everything on disposable plates and containers, such a waste. Spice Alley shops don’t accept cash anymoreRecommended dishesMee Goreng, Char Kway Teow
Rice so dry it was crunchy, two pieces of tofu that tasted of old oil and the rest mostly carrots. No sauce, no flavour, wouldn't be up to standard in a cheap food court.
It’s ok. Just your average home made stir fry quality. You don’t need a chef for this. Just average. Very tiny serve. Typical Spice Alley Shop Don’t recommend.
Got the wonton mee which is normally my go to at this place. Ingredients have got less and less through the years. Latest version was very limited bbq pork slices or in this case pieces!
The food was quite good tho, especially the laksa i ordered chicken laksa, the soup it thick and flavourfull, as for extra sambal to add the complexness of the taste but they’ll charge you extra for this, the roti canai also good, and the chiken from hainanese rice also flavourful The only think that is negative for me and quite critical is that THEY WERE NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL
A favourite place to dine in Spice Alley with Singapore style hawker food. Been here so many time over the years it's a good area for enjoy hawker street food in outdoor dinning. Tried many dishes over the year they make my favourite is the curry dry egg noodles, wanton noodles and roti dishes.
