First time visiting this restaurant and really enjoyed our time as a family! Very friendly and speedy service as well as pleasant ambience. Best dishes were the squid ink paella and calamari tapas. The staff were highly attentive overall. In terms of tapas, I have had better tapas in terms of taste and portion in Sydney hence not 5 stars.
21st April 2023 - Such a fantastic night of food and fun. Walking into the restaurant and there was some Flamenco dancing being performed just prior to our seating with another performance later on in the evening that permitted some interaction with the crowd. The food was delicious with a wide selection of Spanish Specialty dishes. Every single staff member encountered was so pleasant and accommodating for our large group we had here on this evening.
Thank you for the lovely experience dining at Algeria’s. I had done some research and booked a table early to ensure we were able to experience the restaurant on our visit to Sydney. We arrived earlier then our reservation and were kindly greeted by the staff and welcomed in. We enjoyed a mixture of authentic tapas and shared the paella. I would highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Spanish food. We could see the waitresses had come from Spain, this added to the cultural experience and atmosphere and they did their absolute best to ensure we had a lovely time. The food was quick and tasty, well priced for the area it is located and it was great to be able to taste Spanish Tempranillo too Thank you again for a lovely experience
Came for the all you can eat tapas. There were about 13 menu items to choose but we only could muster 7. There were 5 of us and they gave us two servings of each. If we just had one of each we could have had a chance to try a few other dishes. The food was fabulous and friendly staff. They also had a jugs of sangria for $25.Food: 5/5
An authentic family owned Spanish restaurant located in Rozelle. Dishes were quite simple and generally cooked well. The Pork Belly had a nice crisp to it, different to many other western restaurants which usually have thicker sticky skin. This one though was slightly more fatty as well. The Patatas Bravas were soft, but would have been better if it was more crispy. Flavour wise, it was on point. The highly was the cheese and guava filled Empanadas. Nice sweetness and texture. Better than the chicken and beef. On the other end, the fried potatoes with iberico and mash, was a bit off the mash felt like it was overmashed - weird textureand the olives were too salty. Service was also a bit off. We wanted to order a dessert, but the menu never came. It was also difficult to get someone to assist us, after we did our initial order. The table I was placed on, the corner window frames were quite dusty as well needed a good wipe. However, overall a nice and relaxing vibe and the manager was friendly. Gave it 4 stars more because of the effort. Hope to see more improvements in the future.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a this restaurant that is the perfect place for a memorable birthday party. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. One of the standout features of this restaurant is their refreshing sangria. It was the perfect start to the meal and really set the tone for the rest of the night. The sangria was expertly crafted with fresh fruit and just the right amount of sweetness. But it wasn't just the sangria that impressed me; the restaurant's authentic Spanish meals were equally outstanding. The menu offered a wide range of traditional Spanish dishes, from paella to tapas to churros. Each dish was bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the paella, which was cooked to perfection and served in a beautiful ceramic dish. The service at this restaurant was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always happy to offer recommendations or answer any questions we had. They went above and beyond to make sure our party had a great time and that everything was taken care of. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to host a memorable birthday party. The sangria and authentic Spanish meals are not to be missed, and the warm and inviting atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for a celebration.
Squid ink paella was okay patatas bravas was great all you can eat on Wednesday for $39 is a good deal. Looks like the owners have changed. Service was pretty decent.
A lovely, off the beaten path spot for a romantic dinner. The food was wonderful and the sangria was spot on. There are many wine options. I do wish the tapas portions were smaller so we could’ve tried more things. Overall, it was a unique experience and a nice change up from busy city spots.
This is a cosy and family-friendly place. The staff were very hospitable and accommodating. The food were great, too. My favourite was the paella mixta. It was full-flavoured and they were generous with the seafood and meat. It was a hit with the others at the table, too. The slow-cooked lamb was also a hit. It was quite tender and the sauce complemented it well, especially on a bed of quinoa. The patatas bravas was good, too. One cannot stop picking at it despite trying to save our stomach for the main course. The empanadas was good, too. But nothing more remarkable then the standard. Be aware that their standard size of paella, which they say is a serving for two, is enough for 4 persons, especially if you'd started with some tapas.
Came on an early Saturday night. We were one of the first customers. Food was decently presented and came at a nice pace, very good ambience. Unfortunately, overall table service was super awkward experience. Staff kept miscounted the number of people to bring cutlery and plates for. We were interrupted mid-conversation a few times at intervals where we haven’t finished our food. Only the head waitress who took our orders knew what she was doing. Unfortunately, we had to repeat ourselves a few times for the other staff when we were ordering for more water/cocktails/food - but still they got the orders incorrectly The restaurant was not even half packed, so not sure why the waiters seemed like they were in a rush. Overall food from the tapas & paellas were bland. Some seafood was either not fresh, soggy or overcooked. Cheese/Guava Empanadas were worth a try. Pork Cerviche was also pretty good and interesting. Sangria were delicious and would’ve order more if we didn’t need to drive.
