Today I had a very unpleasant experience while shopping at Aldi Inglewood. When I approached the checkout, I informed your cashier, Melody, that my 4-year-old had opened a packet of crackers while we were shopping and that I would like to pay for it.nnInstead of proceeding with the checkout, she refused to start scanning my items and insisted on checking my bag first. I found her tone and manner to be quite rude and unprofessional.nnUnfortunately, this is not the first negative interaction I have had with this particular staff member. Due to repeated experiences like this, my family and I will not be returning to this store.nnI wanted to bring this to your attention as it significantly affected our shopping experience.
First and last time to Aldi. Went through person checkout with around 10 items and my medium size tote bag. Asked if I minded my tote bag being checked. Never ever had this experience before. Really? If I’d wanted to nick something I would’ve gone through self-check. Maybe being a bit sensitive, having just travelled back home from a funeral, but didn’t need the over the top scrutiny, Definitely sticking with faves, Good Grocer, IFA, Woollies and Coles.
Free 2hr carparks.nSimilar ALDI settings.nWell-organized. This one is very tidy.nNot busy.nMore special items left.nI like the fridges with doors to keep meat in a stable temperature and save energy.
I had a really upsetting experience at the ALDI store in Inglewood. This was my first time shopping there since moving to Australia, and I was shocked when a staff member stopped me at the exit to check my shoulder bag ,even though it was clearly almost empty.I usually shop at the Belmont ALDI with the same bag, and no one has ever checked it before. It felt like I was singled out just because of how I look, as someone of Indian appearance. The experience made me feel embarrassed and unwelcome.If bag checks are part of store policy, they should be done fairly for every customer, not selectively based on appearance. I hope ALDI management takes this seriously and ensures that all customers are treated with equal respect and dignity, regardless of background.
Zoomed in this afternoon for one thing but had cash to pay for it. The one register open had a large line of people with lots of products to pay for. All the self-service checkouts were busy too so I asked the attendant if another checkout could be opened, not just so I could pay cash but also to reduce the number of people waiting. Flat out said no. So I put my one thing back in the fridge and walked out. It's not the first time it has happened and frankly I am tired of the ambivalence of your crew at this store.
