I would highly recommend Aldgate Pump hotel restaurant. Great service, great food and the prices are fair. They have an outdoor area with a playground which is lovely. I saw a person with a dog in the outdoor area so I take it that pets are allowed.nMultiple seating sections so you don’t feel overcrowded. Beautiful setting in the hills. And lastly, let me mention the friendly, efficient service again as I feel like it’s often missing in other places.
While the decor is rustic when contrasted to other like venues in the hills, the food definitely maelde up for it. Our dishes were absolutely gigantic, especially the chicken Schnitzel, which was a Thursday special for $18! The chef's special Osso Bucco was delightfully tender, falling off the bone, with a well-balanced sauce. I'll definitely reorder this special. Front of house were friendly and courteous, so we'll definitely return.
Great pub for a Sunday lunch. Pulled in and there were some seating still available in the front bar. The fireplace was roaring along and the service was helpful and with a smile. Steak was cooked really well and the gravy was excellent!
I visited the Aldgate Pump Hotel with my family for lunch on a Sunday and we had a great time. The service was friendly and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the steak, the schnitzel, kids cheese no chips included and the dim sims for starters and we were all satisfied with our choices. The portions were generous and the presentation was appealing. The only downside was that the food came out at different times, so some of us had to wait while others started eating.nThe pub itself has a lot of character and charm. The atmosphere was lively and relaxed, with no loud music or noise. The pub also has a large beer garden and a playground for the kids, which was a nice touch. However, the playground looked a bit old and worn out, and could use some upgrading.nOverall, we enjoyed our experience at the Aldgate Pump Hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a family-friendly pub in the Adelaide Hills. It has a great menu, a great service, and a great location. It is definitely worth a visit.
Any pub that serves proper pints gets a tick in my book!nnA few steps away from being one of the better parmas in the great Adelaide region.nnChicken was moist, cheese coverage was total and well browned. The sauce tastes/appears house made, regardless, it tastes good, albeit too subtle for this application and difficult to detect amongst the other flavours.nnLoses points due to the lack of ham/bacon/procuito, which is a large oversight considering the $35 cost.nnWill be back at another date to give it another go and confirm consistency.nnP.S. Surprised the fire wasn't lit considering it was an 11° day, and probably colder in Aldgate.
