My Favorite Golf Course in Melbourne. Started my Golf journey from here, had my lessons here and play 2 rounds a week here. Nice wide open course, with some challenging holes, great views of the city and the lake. The course is playable all year round, drains off excess water in the winter while watered and maintained in the summer. The staff are friendly and a bit cheeky at times, but will always try to accommodate during busy times. Get on down there and enjoy.
Wonderful public golf course. Highly recommend to all. The only negative was the representative behind the counter who was incredibly rude. Was not only patronising fellow staff members but was quite firm with us after we had bought some vouchers and genuinely weren’t aware of before 12 terms and conditions which we called and checked with pro shop a day earlier and was told it was okay No way to treat any customer.
This is a great experience for anybody wanting to play golf in the CBD a Melbourne everything you need is here for mini golf to practice range the driving range to wonderful food coffee and great share experience even the guys in the golf shop are happy to lend a hand with anything that you may or may not need it’s close to the city easy to use very friendly and very economical price in my view on the best experiences for golf close to the city of Melbourne can’t go wrong as you can see from all the international visitors and get Siri here whenever I need to play golf in the morning weekend
Did not enjoy this course from the moment i got there, paid 3 hour parking? a round takes what 4+ hours.. yes i got a fine! Didn't get told about any permits if there are permits? the course is average at best, the tee of times where running behind, was the slowest game i ever played and had a group of 6 hitting up on us all day! the scenery with the city in the background is the nice part.
What a gem of a golf course! Perfectly located just outside the CBD, it's easy to get to and have a quick round! The course is surprisingly very well maintained and easily playable even in the wet not as muddy as most Vic course have been during the wet seasons. The entire AP-G staff is very friendly: Paul, David, Angel, Chucky, Sam and others make it very accomodating and inviting! Just recently had the opportunity to take some little cousins to play Albert Park Mini Golf - and wow what an experience! The little ones couldn't stop laughing and jumping around ecstatic over their putts and facing novel themed mini golf holes - especially when they got to AP's take on "Jurassic Park" with dinosaurs towering above them as they navigated through those holes. Definitely a family-friendly golf course for both young and old - perfect with tables for picnics - there's something for everyone at Albert Park Golf - And with very competitive and reasonable pricing - I'll be returning as often as I can for golf and taking the little ones for mini golf whenever they're on holidays - Well done Team-AP!
They do not have premium golf club set at all i guess. T-up time was around 1pm but we start 30 mintues later. There is no cart even we booked.. Was surprised with no electric golf cart.. its engine oil, so very noisy and smelling.. Also, there is a lot of walker!!! Please, it is golf course... u gonna die when u were hit by a golf ball...... why nobody restrict them?
It’s a great location with beautiful views across all holes. What destroys the experience is how busy it is, ie tee times to close and no speed management on the course. Wait times are often really bad - today almost 3h for front nine and then we cancelled with two flights ahead of us on the tenth tee. To give them credit - we at least got a rain check for 9 holes. Also course maintenance could be improved. This could be one of the best public courses around if it was better managed. Would rather pay a few dollars more if it would realise the potential this course and location have.
Thought this course was ok for the money but would not recommend going after the GP or when it has rained, course was on life support from all the GP footfall, bunkers had a lot of standing water in them and the sand was like concrete. Pro shop guys could have been more helpful and hire clubs we’re antiques. Still cracking views of the city while you play.
We played here in the last day of 2020. I would say its a decent experience considering some of the holes were not in a good shape. But for an experience to play within a well known Albert park it deserve a good experience for us.
Decent parkland course, par 72, with some distance on the front 9 to keep long hitters interested. Greens aren't all flatbeds some subtle contouring makes them interesting. Nice views of Melbourne skyline from around the course as well! Make sure you're not in a rush if you're planning on playing a Saturday morning, course gets pretty slow.
