Dining By The Wharf, is Only The Beginning of the Experience : Love the atmosphere and the food matches the experience. Even something simple like the papadums are amazing because of their in-house sauces and salad. With a great selection of mains, entrees and sides, it's a restaurant you need to visit at least twice! Any chicken dishes here are a hit but don't be afraid of getting something unconventional, as I'm fairly confident it'll be mind-blowing. Will be back again.
I had an office party with my colleagues there. Food is good but not the best Indian food you can get.Ambience and hospitality was good. Not much waiting time as the food were served fast. One thing you may notice is the portion you get is very small for each dish and you may feel it is costly. We have ordered both veg and meat dishes. Overall you feel good.
Spectacular Indian fine dining by the wharf! The crispy beetroot and chaat spinach leaf entrees were delicious and really sets up a fantastic meal to come. We had a meat platter to share and the highlight was the lamb which was juicy and tender off the bone. The main meals of chicken briyani and fried okra and brinjal was also perfect for sharing. Definely one of the best Indian meals I've had in a long time!
Easily the best Indian restaurant in Sydney. Every dish is superb. Delicate flavours and top rate ingredients makes the curries light and fragrant not heavy and cloying. This is authentic Indian cuisine, not British Indian so don’t be put off if you think you don’t like curry unless you’ve tried real Indian food. It’s not the same thing. Portion sizes are also really generous so we only get one entree and one main between us so don’t be put off by the high price dishes. They’re completely worth it. Have taken a few groups and friends here and everyone has always raved about it. You won’t be disappointed.
Came here for my company's Christmas party that I organised. From start to finish, the team at Aki's were exceptional! Every dish was immaculately prepared and received with great feedback from my colleagues. They happily accommodated to our requests even when asking for a few extra dishes cause some people were 'hungerier' than others. Most importantly though, was the people. Every staff member was professional, kind and happy to crack a few jokes with us - it created a real atmosphere you could enjoy, to the point that we almost didn't want to leave! If you haven't been here yet, it's worth every moment and penny! Best Indian food I've had.
Wide ranges of Indian food with vegetarian options available as expected. Quantity though a little difficult to share. Good desert dishes to finish with. Service is splendid. Sitting outside in cool Sydney evening is a memorable event of dining.
This is an Indian restaurant situated first in the line of restaurants at the Woolloomooloo Wharf. The food was of great quality and freshness. Of special mentions were - the duck and chicken kebab was so succulent and flavourful, the marinated chicken thigh fillets were perfectly done to get that smoky, tangy and spicy flavour on the outside and juicy&tender on the inside. The Andhra chilli chicken was good but the chicken did not Take up the flavour of sauce and we felt that the appam's fermented taste overwhelmed and dominated over the Andhra chilli chicken aroma and taste. Dessert - The rose pannacotta was so light and refreshing and it was absolutely delicious! The ambience was warm, woody and classy on the inside but we chose to be seated outside Wharf-side. Highly recommend this place for the delicious food and a great overall experience. Would love to come back more often.
Very nice food and doesn't take a long time to come out. Just a warning to those who can't handle spicy food, when Ashish tells you that it's not spicy, it means spicy. The Biryani spelled Biriyani on the menu was very fragrant. I like the candle set up so that it stays warm throughout the meal. The lamb bone just separates nicely from the meat. The curry sauce, while delicious, was too salty so I couldn't have a lot of it. We want to go back to try the eggplant and dosa! The view outside is excellent and we were seated there for the first two minutes. Then smokers ruined the experience. Apparently smoke loses all momentum after four meters, I've been telling everyone that it's not the case but I'm just one man. The whole area should have a ban on smoking. I really would have liked to eat outside.
We had lunch at Aki’s last sunday and glad to say it lived upto all the good reviews I read before making the reservation. Our favourite dishes were the entrees Dosa and Iddiappam with crab topping. Yum! The chutneys came with Dosa were mind-blowing specifically one with ginger. I even loved the chutney or sauce served with pappadum which they offer complimentary. Chicken biryani was nice but I wouldn’t say top-notch and chilli chicken curry wasn’t spicy at all. Lovely restaurant at the Finger Wharf and staff were really nice n attentive. Best thing is they serve masala chai spice tea just the way you would be served in a boutique restaurant in india; small glasses in a hanging basket and they pour in tea from a metal tea pot at the table. Definitely, will come back for tea and Dosa
Being rated one of the best Indian restaurant in Sydney still hold good . Restaurant is located at beautiful waterfront location .Food was delicious and great service. loved the ambience as well.
