A fantastic cruise! Lovely boat. Great tour with dolphins swimming alongside the boat. Also saw some seals and various seabirds including albatross! George the captain was brilliant - very knowledgeable and approachable and made the experience great. Complimentary drinks and cookie were a nice touch. One of the best boat cruises I've been on!
We really enjoyed our cruise with George, Natalie and Buster. You guys were lovely hosts. It was interesting to hear about the history and geology of the area. 21 years ago when we visited Akaroa, we only explored the village. Getting to see small pods of Hector's dolphins, plus a blue penguin, and lots of fur seals was a memorable experience for our 21st wedding anniversary. Thank you.
What a treat Akaroa Dolphin cruise is! We went on a beautiful sunny day and the boat ride was just as lovely as seeing the dolphins themselves. We got to see the tiny penguins and seals too. The captain was funny and knowledgeable. Plenty of seating to spread around. Also enjoyed the pups company. Complimentary drink and homemade cookie given were delish. If you are in town do not miss the opportunity.
Incredible experience. We thought we would get lucky if we saw several dolphins from a distance, but on this trip we were lucky enough to see several pods come and go, chase the boat, and play alongside us. Couldn't describe just how beautiful the seeing so many Hector Dolphins in the Cyan waters in such a setting. The crew were super friendly and were happy to be doing their job - refreshing to see. I highly recommend doing this trip!
Fantastic way to explore the bay and see Hector dolphins, seals, shags and penguins. Once you collect your tickets, and board the gorgeous boat, you are greeted with a welcome drink of either beer, wine or juice, there is also a supply of water. Loved the commentary throughout from George, the captain, learnt a lot about the geology and history of the bay. Albie, the dog, was on hand to alert us to when dolphins were near by. We were lucky enough to see a few pods and one calf. They can come quite close to the boat so you will see them up close. The boat is big enough for everyone so that you can move around freely from the front and back and go up to the top if you wish. The two hours goes really quickly and you will wish you had longer out there. What an experience, one I’ll never forget.
After popping in to the office to see which cruise we were going to book we went with Akaroa Dolphins because of the friendly, helpful advise we received. Apparently the dolphins were busy feeding so were less interested in us but I have to say, we not disappointed at all. We saw quite a few dolphins and two calves swimming with their mothers which was really great as well as beautiful landscape, Seals, penguins and birds. It was the highlight of our trip. Albie and Hannah was pretty cool too! not necessarily in that order!
The most amazing experience ever! We had such a great time with George, Natalie & Buster. Such an amazing, modern clean boat, fantastic knowledgeable commentary and beautiful scenery. The wildlife we saw was all an added bonus to this fantastic 2 hour boat ride. We got to see Dolphins Jumping, the worlds smallest penguin, seals and birds - just amazing! Thank you so much - totally recommend to anyone.
Incredible experience. Super friendly, informative and helpful staff and great tour of the harbour. We were greeted with a complimentary drink and offers a cookie half way through. Skipper was great at navigating the harbour and the onboard dog buster was amazing at spotting the dolphins. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Was very lucky to have made it on due to a cancellation and had great weather. Am usually unlucky on cruises but this time saw several of the rare Hector's dolphins very close, a couple of the small penguins, several seals including pups, and even some sheep! Also learnt some local history which was a bonus and met the dolphin finding ships dog. Thanks to the whole crew for a great experience.
