The After Hours GP Clinic provides quality GP care in the after hours period when your usual GP clinic is closed.

Located at 36 Wellington Rd Box Hill (corner of Arnold Street and Wellington Road - opposite Box Hill Hospital)

Clinic Hours
Monday to Friday 6.30pm -11.00pm
Saturdays 1pm - 11.00pm
Sundays & Public Holidays 10am - 11.00pm

No appointment necessary - fees are payable at the time of consultation.

The After Hours GP Clinic is a co-operative venture of General Practitioners in Melbourne’s Central East.

This is an After Hours Medical Service only, and as such, we recommend all patients have their own General Practitioner for ongoing care.

With your consent, information relating to the consultation is sent to your usual practitioner immediately by fax, mail or secure mail the next day, thereby giving the continuity of your care back to your own GP.

On site patient parking is available in the Arnold Street car park.

I was beyond impressed with my experience at this doctor’s office. My first contact was with Anita and I was completely blown away by how helpful and kind she was. A lot of doctors don’t realize how important it is to have a receptionist like Anita. The first point of contact is crucial. Anita was an absolute star! Now on to the appointment... all I had to do was walk through the door and I was seen on the spot this was after I'd tried to book in to numerous other doctors but was turned away as it was on the eve of a public holiday. The doctor was really knowledgeable and made me feel completely at ease. I would highly recommend this medical group!
Awesome Clinic strong recommend! I came with 2 sick little boys4 years & 8 years old on Wednesday evening with DR MAJOR , She is absolutely star! Very experienced, knowledgable and caring ,and reception lady also very kind and nice, I've finally found a decent GP.
The Doctor I had was very helpful, knowledgeable & a genuine listener. However, most people attend an after hours clinic out of desperation. I needed something for the pain from an ear infection & they have a no pain medication policy. Not a lot of help for those in need.
I recently visited for some post-surgery wound care. Had an experienced and very pleasant GP ex-surgeon who did a thorough job of re-dressing the wound, and explained what I needed to do to take care of it at home myself. Overall very satisfied, and no waiting time.
My daughter saw Dr Wijesinha yesterday with a badly sprained ankle. He gave us a referral for xray and scan and explained what he suspected was the issue. Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills. We waited perhaps 15 mins on a Sunday afternoon, no appointments accepted, just walk-in. On-site parking on Arnold St is very handy too. Will come back again.
I cant thank more to this clinic and the Dr attending me at that time. I came running to the only available clinic who can see me without waiting , to help with my severe ear ache. I had a feeling something needs to be taken out of my ears immediately. I cried with relief and thanking doctor who helped me with cleaning my ears and a chunk of wax came out. She even gave me painkiller from her own personal bag , saying where would I go and find a pharmacy at this time of night and gave dose till morning. I am so thankful that I came here. Its right opposite to Box hill emergency. But sometimes you really need to weigh emergency with waiting period or emergency without waiting but fee applied. I chose later and dont regret.
I went to this clinic with a burn from hot oil. Dell on reception was VERY helpful and empathetic . I was immediately taken in the the resting room , given pain relief and attended to quickly based on the severity of the burn . Highly recommended and very well priced too . Thank you for helping in my time of need !!
Was not hoping for much from an after-hours clinic, to be honest, but was surprised and delighted by the quality of care and attention I received from Dr Jane Keech today. Highly recommended.
We didn't have to wait to see the GP for long. Then she also have our daughter with croup some medicine to help her straight away. Excellent service.
I called ahead to say I was coming with my 5 year old who had woken with a severe earache and asked if I came now and arrived 5 minutes before closing if they would see her. I was told to come. I live 15 minutes away and got there as soon as I could. When I arrived I was told "we've turned our computers off... sorry" - it was not 11pm yet!! Why tell someone to come and then do that? A complete lack of humanity and empathy. Waste of time and really furious at dragging my 5 year old out at that time of night to be stuffed around.
