I would not recommend this business have had multiple problems from a 12 week wait to no communication to receiving the wrong color bed with missing parts. Been given the run around even when I have been very patient and I have not harassed them given the current times. Getting excuses like we order that part in and can’t always check the quality? Really !!! Requested $350 compensation to fix all the issues and still no response being from Sydney and waiting 12 weeks is a joke original wait in order was 4weeks I had to chase them after this date
This company has driven me to writing my first review. How is this business still taking orders/surviving? What a shambles. Like every other review here, we had the same problem of broken promises and it never arriving. If only we looked at the reviews first. 9 months after ordering we finally pulled the pin and got our money back. Non stop waffle emails always with the same excuse. Thought we were buying quality not cheap imports. Feels a bit like getting caught up in a drop shipping business that doesn't know how to drop ship. Avoid! Thanks, Ben.
Bunkers no longer Australian made. The quality is lacking and don't get me started on customer service. Wait times 10 weeks longer than already waiting 12 weeks. No email to communicate what was happening or that there were unforeseen circumstances or apologies. I had to email to find out what was going twice! Both times the email replies were full of excuses and unapologetic. Parts weren't available so were given mismatched replacement piece and we are waiting going on 9 weeks for the replacement parts.I have just emailed for a third time as again there is zero communication. The bunk itself hadn't even been pre drilled in places so we had to do that as well. Would I recommend purchasing from this company? NO.
After waiting 11 months for the queen loft bed to arrive I deeply regret not cancelling my order at any point during that time. Was initially told 8 - 12 weeks but expect it to be closer to 12 weeks as there were some delays. Several weeks after the 12 weeks had passed I rang to get an update and was told it will be here in 3 weeks. I purchased a mattress during the July sales as I was told it was due during the July holidays. When we asked what mattress should we buy, we were told any mattress would do. Any mattress won't do as the one we chose based on that advice proved to be to high, it was equal to the height of the safety rails and unsafe. We now have a bed with no mattress and a mattress with no bed that can't be returned as we opened it to put on the bed. We purchased the mattress based on the advice of Bunkers staff but that proved to be as false as the 'it will be here in 3 weeks', something I was told over and over that clearly wasn't true. We have spent combined $2400 on bed and mattress. I have repeatedly asked Bunkers what the maximum mattress height is but haven't received an answer yet. When I emailed that question using a different account I was answered in 3 minutes. Customer service was completely lacking and during the 11 month wait, the vast majority of contact was initiated by me to get updates. There is also a small but noticeable dent in one of the timbers. We wish to return the bed for a full refund and not have to look at the bed as it just reminds us of the colossal waste of time and money dealing with Bunkers has been. Would never deal with again and recommend against using.
Rang them to confirm stock and pick up availability in QLD, then purchased the goods. To find put a week after it was a 8-12 weeks wait. Asked for a refund. Its been 5 days and still no refund and now they won't return my emails or calls. I wouldn't buy from this company again. Very unprofessional. I will report them to the retail Ombudsman if I don't get resolution today.
Ordered in October 2022…February 2023 and still waiting. I think it should arrive “just in time” before Christmas to further delays and on the next shipment to a 20/1/23 update “we are going to be airfreighting in some stock to complete orders placed in October. This will take a couple of weeks to arrive”. My 15 year old daughter is sleeping in our lounge because we dismantled our other bed anticipating it’s December arrival and gave it away. I’m no longer on holidays and now have no way of collecting the bed if it ever arrives. Compensation should be offered without having to ask. This is genuinely ridiculous as I still wait without word or update or even a showroom bed offered. Absolutely appalling!
My parents got me a bunk bed that I was super excited for, the money has gone to waste and I feel horrible about everything. Seeing my parents stressed over the money is not fun. We just want our money back. :
I'm not sure what's happening lately with Bunkers, but I'm quite disappointed. We've had several bunks from over a decade ago and they were very good quality so we ordered two more again for our growing family. We were quoted 8-12 weeks and it's now been 20, with at least another 4-6 weeks to go. While the impact of worldwide shipping problems is understandable, what is not comprehensible is their misrepresentation of the expected wait times, presumably just to make the sale. Looking through the reviews, this has clearly been going on for at least the last year, so it's not like they weren't aware of the extensive delays. They need to be honest about this. Our kids' patience with their temporary sleeping arrangements has run out. Please start telling customers honest and best estimates for delivery timeframes and perhaps consider not importing from Shanghai! Update 23/6/22 - After over 6 months and repeated promises of our order being on the "next container", our order hadn't even left China. All manufacturing and sourcing now from China since 2017, according to them. Furthermore, not all the pieces would even be delivered when it eventually arrives, with no estimate on when we'd actually get what was ordered. We will never buy Bunkers again - it's sad demise for a once good product and company.
Quality of the bed is awesome; the way it fit together was really impressive, so building it out of the box went really well. There was a challenge with the supply chain issues casing a several week delay.
Don't be fooled! This isn't the same Bunkers furniture you've heard about or bought in the past. Despite the marketing speak and price, this is now your typical 'Made in China' flat-pack furniture. We had a few issues with ours including malformed components and a nylon plug that has become detached from the cupboard face after barely any use at all. The three month delivery time was understandable due to Covid, and the missing handles were at least shipped out to us the day after we enquired. If you particularly like the style and are happy with the price then I wouldn't necessarily avoid Bunkers. Just don't go into it expecting the quality to be any better than what you'd find at any of the other flat-pack retailers. Update: Since posting my review the cupboard face has completely detached. Just absolute rubbish quality fixings. This is in a cupboard that has only been assembled a few months, and is out of the way in a position that is not subjected to bumps or climbing etc.
