I visited the Adelaide Botanic Garden, and it was such a wonderful experience! The place is peaceful, full of lush greenery, colorful flowers, and beautiful walking paths. I also got to see some amazing wildlife, including a stunning sulphur-crested cockatoo , which made the visit even more special.
Just wow! The best botanical garden I have been at.nnIt’s a big but walkable area. There are all kinds of different plants and houses with themes. It’s beautiful and I visited in winter!nnGreat 2h getaway from the city. Peaceful walk.nnThere were lots of staff taking care of the gardens.nnFree entry nFree water refilling nToilets nWheelchair/pram accessible nFood and drinks nIndoor and outdoor nSeating areas nFree tours nWaypoints nnDefinitely worth a visit, even in winter.
Free to enter during the day. Its a relatively large but walkable area with different areas of interests. There's a Botany house with all the different types of grains/veges etc on display. Can easily spend 2 hours walking here.
Before heading into the Adelaide Zoo, my family had a couple of hours to kill so we went into the Botanic gardens. We were pleasantly surprised by what we saw. There were all kinds of both native and exotic plants properly organised into sections within the compound. We were also lucky to see the Chihuly sculptures on display. They enhanced the whole experience. Overall the gardens were well maintained and watered despite the recent spell of warm and dry weather.nnThe only issue I have with this place is parking. This same problem plagues the zoo as well. As there aren't any car parks, visitors are expected to park on the street. During busy times, visitors of both affections will be competing for parking. Luckily we went early before either parks were open so we got a good spot right in front of one of the gates. When we left in the late afternoon, the street was full of cars and our spot was grabbed within seconds of us vacating the spot.
Adelaide Botanic Garden is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, families, and friends looking for a peaceful and beautiful outdoor experience. Located in the heart of Adelaide, this garden offers a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Whether you enjoy leisurely walks, picnics, or simply relaxing in a lush green environment, this place has something for everyone.nnOne of the highlights of my visit was the International Rose Garden. This area is a true paradise for flower enthusiasts, featuring an incredible variety of roses from around the world. The vibrant colors and delicate fragrances make it a magical spot to explore and take stunning photos. I highly recommend taking your time here to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the roses.nnThe garden itself is well-maintained and offers a variety of themed areas, including beautiful lakes, historical buildings, and exotic plant collections. The glasshouse structures, such as the Bicentennial Conservatory, showcase fascinating tropical plants, adding to the garden's charm. There are also plenty of shaded areas, making it ideal for a relaxing picnic with family and friends.
