My family has been dining here regularly for over 10 years. The food is of the highest quality. While the menu is varied, I think the freshly made pasta dishes are exceptional and something I always look forward to . The wine selection is of equal quality, and many of the wines are imported directly from Italy and only available in this restaurant. MG and her friendly Italian staff make for a very enjoyable and authentic Italian experience.
Sensational food. Fantastic, true Italian experience. We are so lucky to have them here. Any criticism is unfounded. This is as good as it gets outside of Italy. Maria and Brett are just brilliant. Yes, she's "pure Italian", but that's the beauty of it. If you don't like it, go somewhere else! We think the experience and the food is sensational. So does my 90 year old father! Pure Italian class.
Amazing food, excellent wine list and service to match. We have been dining at Acquolina for over 10 years and always leave feeling extremely satisfied and well fed just like a true Italian family! We especially enjoy the extensive list of delicious, authentic, homemade pasta and the array of fine wines. Maria always greets us with a warm hug and instantly we feel at home. Brett is always ready to introduce a new wine for us to taste and we are never let down. He has a real passion for fine wine and great taste. We highly recommend Acquolina and it's warm family atmosphere.
I was here last week, the owner was very rude, food is expensive and small servings... I should have read the reviews... Fake 4-5 star reviews.. read the 1 and 2 Star for accurate reviews and read the owners responses. Here's a tip: focus on customer service and food quality then you may get some real reviews. Oh and the Prawn saffron pasta is not the best.
This is one of my very favourite places to come for dinner. When you walk in, you immediately feel like you are being greeted by family when the lovely MG throws up her arms with excitement. The food is always spectacular and authentic. This restaurant is an absolute credit to MG and her husband and somewhere that you MUST GO if you are in Sorrento!
What an amazing restaurant! The best experience of truly authentic Italian food ... we started the dinner with the house made chicken liver paté and vitello tonnato. Both dishes were very well presented and very tasteful. After we ordered beef casoncelli ravioli with mushroom sauce and house made fettuccine with saffron cream sauce and prawns. Absolutely delicious! The fresh pasta at acquolina is amazing!!! We finished with MG's family tiramisu and Ferrero rocher zuccotto ... incredible! The staff was very helpful and really friendly! Brett helped us to choose the wine ... he suggested an amazing Italian wine imported directly from Italy by acquolina ! Definitely we'll come back and I'll recommend the dining experience to everyone.
Half of our table of twelve were quite unhappy with their meals. Nevertheless, sumptuous cosy atmosphere with great service and attention to detail. Perhaps owner could have been more remedial after our complaint.
Here about a month ago for dinner on a sunday night. We turned up late 830ish , but the managers/chef said they would help us out and give us a serving of lasagne and spaghetti Bolognese anyway and we were wrapped. Never been here before and they were some of the nicest people we have come accross in a long time had a great chat with them. So friendly and happy id love to be like them at their age
Horrible food that has nothing to do with authentic Italian food. "Saffron prawn fettuccine" the signature dish is nothing more than fettuccine with cream with a couple of prawns on the side and raw saffron on top. Flavours are not melted among themselves and paying $35 is just not worth it. So if you are in Sorrento just go for a pizza, it's better.
Have been coming for this restaurant for years from dromana. I cannot find the same experience closer to home so we travel to Sorrento every week as we know we never get disappointed at acquolina. To have a father-in-law who is a pasta chef compliment this restaurant on their pasta must be saying something! Maria went out of her way to celebrate my youngest sons birthday recently and he had a fantastic time. He is a fussy eater but Maria has gone out of her way and found what he enjoys. We thank the whole Acquolina team from the bottom of our hearts for the joy you bring to us. Congratulations for such a successful business.
