We called before our departure and staff just indicated us to call in after we collected luggages for shuttle bus pick up. No map no further indication. Ended up nobody picked up the phone at all and the line is not working. Tried the online booking form and said no bus available at your location. So we paid $6x for Uber to the location. When we arrived staff said we missed the shuttle bus at the pick up point hence no reimbursement for the uber. So ridiculous he made us sounds like we should have known that. The pick up point is at the domestic terminal whereas we landed in International.
If you see this before booking tou are lucky, Do yourself a favour, don't use it while in holiday; super poor customer service and confused operation. You might easy waste 5hrs wait and get a simple answer "I can't help you"
The website said go to Cairns international to collect car - so walked from domestic to Itnl in the 30+ heat no Ace Car rental anywhere Had to walk all the way back to domestic to Find out that I had to walk to some courtesy shuttle stop and wait for a transfer!! It’s ridiculous - and the staff are in Hertz uniforms just to add to the confusion! Ace if you’re reading this pls Amend you’re pickup information so it’s clear!!!!
Would give zero stars if possible. Went there today and it turns out the company has effectively gone under but are using Hertz to fulfil their orders. After getting a taxi from the airport to thier office I then had to get one back to the Hertz counter who thankfully honoured the booking - however I got a minivan instead of the 4x4 I reserved as I could only get what they had available. Don't bother contacting ACE no one is in their cairns office. I left multiple messages with no success Complete sham booking and dishonest of them to be accepting bookings. Only advice I could give is if you have booked with them cancel!
Absolutely disgusting Company. Got to Cairns airport with my 9 month old and waited for the shuttle and no one came. Tried calling them for 40min with no answer, had to call the Gold Coast office who told us to go to the Hertz counter, got to the counter and there was no car for us. We had to wait at the airport for 4hrs with a baby who was beside herself. NEVER book with this company.
We rented a vehicle from Ace late June this year. I expected to be able to pick the car up at Cairns airport but was wrong, which was OK. They have a shuttle mini bus, but the issue was that there were 4 families that flew in at a similar time. They only picked up drivers who then had to drive back to the airport to pick up their families! So getting my rental vehicle cost us about a hour... I am certainly never using this company again. Not the way you want to start a Holiday!
No issues with this company. I was fully aware that I was being picked up by a shuttle bus. The first one was full but they returned within 20mins. The car we received was clean and in good condition. Staff at the city terminal were very polite and helpful. I was able to return the car to the airport rather than to the city which was a bonus. No hesitation in renting or referring anyone else to this company. Price was also extremely competitive.
Great cars at a very fair price. My flight came in late so I missed the shuttle. Called in the next day and they moved heaven and earth to get me another car. Great service and I will definitely use them again.
Please read the 1 star reviews before booking, I made the mistake of only looking at the 3.5 star review and assumed it would suffice, there was no shuttle bus, called the office many times with no answer, finally gave up and took a taxi after almost an hour of waiting to their office, which turned out to be closed It was 11am on a Wednesday, upon this discovery we find a letter on the door, asking us to go find their other office in city we weren't familiar with ended up getting lost a bit in the blazing midday sun, upon finally finding the location we were greeted with an unapologetic man who proceeded to give us a surcharge and top everything off I am still waiting to receive my bond back of $250 :. Please don't use this company, save yourself the time, effort and grey hairs, book with a company that actually cares. We were only up in cairns for a day and ended up faffing about for half of it trying to get a car, 1 star is probably generous, learn from my mistake.
I had a really positive experience with this company. got upgraded to a larger car. was able to drop back at the airport rather than the city and it was a ridiculously cheap deal. it was also no problem extending for a further day. i have no concerns with the security deposit. was informed it will be returned within 7 days. no dramas. highly recommend this car rental company.
