ZZAN Fried Chicken

We passed this millions of times, and never been in up until last night. Firstly good to see Koreans eating there and working there, so it give its a lot more credibility. We ate the “infamous” soy garlic chicken, grilled meat pork & squid and onion rings. Portions were larger than expected. So don’t be a hero and order large amounts of food to start. Saw a lot of people doing takeaway of their food as they had over ordered. Onions rings not made in house and pretty average. Chicken was great, not too oily and great crunch. Grilled meat had great flavours too. All the little side dishes were typical great tasting Korean accompaniments. Now gamers enjoy some retro street fighter in the corner. I love this place! ZZAN has a very unique vibe - Korean underground pub. They have arcade games and Karaoke ! The size portion of their food is great for sharing within a group so definitely bring your friends! Just to be safe, make sure you book a table in advance, especially if you have a big group. My new favorite restaurant!

Awesome Korean restaurant. Fried chicken and the spicy soup were delicious. Plus, you can enjoy singing songs in a karaoke booth.

Great food! Many choices for a great Korean food experience: Chicken is super spicy tho! But you cannot beat the seaweed roll!!!

Korean fried chicken is their thing and they sure do it good! I think we ordered every style and the favorite was the sweet sticky one and the spicy one. The original was ok but really needed to come with some dipping sauce. The rest of the food was really good, and you can order fries if you want some familiar spuds. The vibe of the place is quirky, lots of graffiti on the walls, neon lights and we LOVED the spacies! Oh, did I mention they have karaoke? Will have to go back for that.

Love this place. Best korean fried chicken in chch, japchae is also absolutely killer. Great chill vibe, always come for a few beers and sojus as well. Honestly don't know where we'd be without this place, Christchurch is atrocious for late night food spots and zzan really fills some of that gap.

Amazing food and good vibes!!! They were a little short staffed but it was a Monday night and the staff were super efficient and super friendly so no complaints, chicken is mad spicy and real good!!! Soju cocktails are a must if you go

Love the different flavored variety of crispy chicken. The fries are delicious, fresh & thick cut. I tried the seafood boil, the seafood was a bit overcooked hence why the 4 stars.

Awesome Korean restaurant, large portion, menu offers from fried chicken, hot pot, Korean BBQ, hot soup to taboki. Drinks menu is pretty creative too. There are also karaoke boxes you can sit in and sing away. The restaurant is of funk and street vibe. Staff are friendly and helpful. Not too crowded at dinner time. Well definitely go again.

The good: Chicken, interior design, free arcade games, could pay individually The bad: Tteokbokki, bar stools and small round tables large group of 10 people Lowlight: Short haired waitress rolled her eyes at us when we didn't mention whether we wanted the chicken to be boneless or with bone
