Was a bit hard to find were to order. We had a lovely lady help show us and seat us at a table and give menu's and explained how things worked. We asked if we could sit outside on the wharf area, that was okay as long as we paid our order first, no worries. Lovely area. Sat outside and meals were brought outside to us very quickly, great meals. Recommend to have meals. Parking: The area of the restaurant there isn't alot of parking u may have to park and walk a little Wheelchair accessibility: There is a disability park outside the other restaurant, u may need to find other parking areas
We had a fantastic experience on New Year's eve + Anniversary special dinner. The staff surprised us with a fantastic service and hospitality. The view is gorgeous and the environment is quite cozy and welcoming. We were with our kids we all had a great moment kudos to the amazing staff. This is our second time and we'll be definitely back. Recommended!
Came for birthday dinner- One of the worst “fancy” dinning experiences that We will always remember and laugh about. 1. Service -all the staff were friendly. It didn’t start off so great when we weren’t given cutlery/dishes to eat our entree and then after we asked, we weren’t given the right cutlery/dishes. We struggled a bit with what we were given. Our waiter made sure my dessert had a birthday decoration on it which was sweet! 2.View- beautiful! We caught the sunset and it was stunning! 3.Aquarium- something special and fun to look at. 4. Food- just horrible… - $6 per piece of oyster, and they were frozen oysters. I understand that sometimes produce just can’t be sourced everyday, especially after COVID but at least let us know upfront that you have no fresh oysters…. There was no warning when we ordered. I spat out the ones I ate because they tasted so bland and chewy. When we raised it as an issue, the waiter just smiled and said “oh yeah they were frozen.. was the lemon and the sauce not able to cover that up?” There was no attempt to address the issue. Also the sauce wasn’t great either but if they were fresh oysters then it wouldn’t have mattered…. This was a huge disappointment and bad oysters residue taste doesn’t just go away. Terrible start to the meal.. -chicken: this is a personal no no. The chicken we were served had the same texture as if it was raw… we believe it was cooked. It looked cooked but it felt raw when we bit into it. It felt like we were biting into crunchy fibrous flesh. Won’t pretend like we have eaten raw chicken before but the way it felt in our mouth was similar to the feeling you get when you cut into thick raw chicken breast… I couldn’t bring myself to eat it. - fish main wasn’t bad. Not great, but after the gross oysters then “raw” chicken breast, I just felt lucky my husband switched his food with my chicken breast. -seafood chowder was brilliant. - drinks- not bad, very ordinary but priced as if there were going to be fancy cocktails. -food options on the menu were very very limited. We didn’t make a fuss about anything because we know it’s not been easy since COVID and also it’s not like they were going to do anything about it. 5. Price- I think way overpriced for what we were served. It’s in a nice location with the view and the aquarium and so it’s charging at a fancy upmarket restaurant rate but unfortunately both its food and drinks were huge disappointments. 6. Parking wasn’t too easy but then we found paid public parking across the street.
It was a wonderful experience. Our waiter Brooke made it easy to order and she was great with our 3 kids. The kids loved there desserts and looking at the fish tank was fun. Thanks again for a lovely dinner Brooke.Food: 3/5
I like the place ambiance was good. Server was new but he was very helpful. The food on the other hand was a bit disappointing. Ordered the pork starter and it was really REALLY dry. Taste old. Same with the beef tartare. Usually tartare is raw beef but it was already brown and didnt look fresh. I liked the chowder. The lamb was good too its a shame they serve it with frozen peas. For what I paid i was actually expecting more. But it was very average. The chefs should be more attentive.
This was our first dinner in Paihia. We really liked it. Drinks were good and food was very nice, full of flavour. Ophely our waitress was very nice and even took some pictures of us. Recommended yo visit.Recommended dishesSaffron Risotto
My husband and I had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. Our server, Daisy, was so friendly and gave us her recommendations for dishes and wine. We shared a delicious local white wine from the Bay of Islands. For dinner we started with the green lipped mussels in a coconut curry sauce. For the main, I had the saffron risotto with Peruvian scallops and my husband had the fish of the bay which was king fish. All of the food was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful. For dessert we shared a panna cotta dish and with and chocolate sauces. From the food to the friendly service, our whole experience was perfect, and to top it off our table was right against the large windows with a gorgeous view of the bay. Would highly recommend!
Nice place to have a nice dinner. Tables facing the sea and the wharf are perfect ask to be seated there. We went for rissotto and lamb and both were great! Good service and nice staff.
Loved the pork belly, the flavour was great. I enjoyed my mango smoothie. They have a great view from the window. Nice people we enjoyed ourselves.Recommended dishesKumara Fries, Salt and Pepper Calamari
Had an excellent meal with my parents which we all enjoyed. Staff were very friendly and attentive especially our waitress Lara who was happy to arrange a mix up meal for my elderly celiac mother. Food was delicious. Dietary restrictions: Good range for Gluten Free
