Absolute best experience! Neil Ross was incredible. He educated us on the art of herding and the shepherd life style. He was very nice and very welcoming. It was so much fun to watch the pups work. You get to feed the lambs and play with the pups! Incredible experience. Our family had a blast!
Great experience and amazing end to our 12 day trip in Scotland. Lovely dogs and adorable lambs we got to bottle feed! Recommend phoning to book as we phoned in the morning and got a call back in the afternoon to come along.
Amazing and intelligent border collies. A very pleasant and educational experience. Mr. Ross put on an excellent demonstration and took the time to answer all of our questions. An absolute must see activity. Mr. Ross suggested "post office, Café" for lunch. They had excellent Panini's and soup. A comfortable, quaint restaurant, in the middle of rural Scotland. The prices were extremely reasonable, and the food was delicious.
What an experience! Really great. This man knows how to train sheepdogs properly. On top you get to feed the little sheep's who are very cute. 15 pounds p.p. is not cheap but I guess it's worth it. We would definitely go again.
This was the highlight of my trip! Neil and his sheepdogs are so brilliant and the way they work together is so amazing to witness. Loved that he started the demonstration early to try and get it all in before it rained again. We fed the little sheep out of bottles and even took a turn sheering one of the adults. Definitely stop here, it is worth going out of your way for!!
Neal works magic with his border collies at the working sheepdog farm.The dogs are incredibly disciplined and also very friendly at the same time. We also met Anita, the Highland Cow as she wandered through the group of spectators looking for some friendly pats! And I got to help sheer a sheep! Watch Neal "relax" the sheep by hypnotizing it before he sheers it. I am not lying...that was mind boggling! This cool experience is something we will talk about for many years.
An incredibly interesting and playful morning with Neil and his dogs. Very educational, hands-on, and funny : would highly recommend you call in advance to check demonstration times. We met his 8 dogs, watched a younger one in training, fed some sheep and a Highland coo, plus an opportunity to help shear a sheep. Neil is very forthcoming about his experiences and open to all questions. Will be back!
Called many times, no answer, website is under construction, no information anywhere on actual time and whether or not a show is taking place! So we turned up at the farm feeling like intruders, but this could have been easily avoided with any kind of simple communication like a schedule, or simply a statement saying don’t show up at x dates! In short, we didn’t see a show, but would have loved to. I’d recommend for the owner to more clearly communicate when they are offering shows - it will make the guests happier, and stop random strangers from showing up unwelcome at their farm. ;
One of the amazing and unique experiences in Scotland. Neil was very passionate about being a shepherd and the dogs are very well trained by him. There are lots of things to learn about sheep farming and using the dogs in taking care of the sheep.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
This was one of our favorite stops in Scotland. Neil Ross was a wonderful host who provided us with historical information as well as demonstrations by his well-trained border collies. I recommend visiting this working farm. You will be glad you did!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
