Work placements are part of the Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Science (Technology) at the University of Waikato
The Work Placements team work in the Science and Engineering Faculty. We work with students on BE(Hons) and BSc(Tech) Degrees who have to complete work placements for part of their degrees.
It is an opportunity for our students to gain relevant paid work experience with their academic learning.
We have a specialist team of Placement Coordinators who work with local and the wider community to help our student’s transition from the lecture theatres and labs into their chosen industry.
Our students find summer internships in the following subjects:
Mechanical
Electronic
Civil
Environmental
Software/Computer Sciences
Materials and Processing
Chemical and Biological
Environmental
Earth Science
Marine Science
Biology
Chemistry
Biotech
Biochemistry.
On this page we post general information on events at the university, information about placements, subject related information and employment opportunities for any of the employers we engage with for internships.
