Woodend Tennis Club - for tennis players from all ages and all walks of life. Competitive and recreational.
The Woodend Tennis Club is located in Gladstone Park on Gladstone Road (which comes off the Main Road through Woodend). Turning into Gladstone Park offers you the Rugby Clubrooms and playing fields if you turn left. If you head off to the right you will find the tennis courts, club house and extensive parking lot (used by the rugby club as well.)
There are four courts in total. One open all year round and three fenced off with lights and netball court markings. The Netball Club use these through the winter so the nets are usually down for this period. The courts do have some seating. There is a dual sided rebound wall with net markings available all year and, there is also a small playground for children. Whilst the clubhouse does have it's own toilets, there are separate male and female toilets maintained by the council. And if you simply want to have run around and throw a ball or a frisbee - there's plenty of room around the courts.
The Woodend Tennis Club is affiliated with North Canterbury tennis and fields both junior and senior teams for inter club competition (usually held) on Saturdays. We are always looking for new players so please feel free to contact us at any time and any skill level is considered.
There is a 2 court tennis court at the Woodend School (accessed via Rangiora Woodend Road) which is available year round.
Courts at Gladstone Park are ashphalt and the courts at Woodend School are a green rendered composite.
SOCIAL TENNIS
