The Woodend Community Emergency Responce Team is a number of Woodend, North Canterbury residents who could be activated in a Civil Defence emergency.
Woodend CERT is a network of residents who would be activated in the event of an emergency.
They would provide a communication link between residents and Civil Defence.
In the event of a Civil Defence emergency it would be helpful for the Woodend CERT to know.
• If you need help and what type of help.
• Are you in a position to help other people?
As a member of Woodend CERT you may be asked to.
• Pass on Civil Defence information to other households in your street.
Civil Defence says we may have to look after ourselves for up to 72 hours during a major emergency before assistance is available from the emergency services.
