Wolter Art Studio & Gallery is located approx. 50 min. from Nelson City on the way to New Zealand's beautiful Kaiteriteri Beach.
I was born in Gisborne on the New Zealand East Coast 1965. After extensive overseas travel, included living and working in Australia and Sweden - I settled with my family in sunny Motueka at the top of the South Island.
My home and gallery is on the road to Kaiteriteri Beach and the Abel Tasman National Park.
I have been a full time artist for over a decade and during that time been working and experimenting with a range of medium. Through this journey metal art works have become my passion and I am now creating mainly one-off metal sculptures.
I enjoy the physical aspect of using hand tools like hammers, grinders and blow torches. I just love witnessing the colors produced when heating metals and bringing to life expressive curved forms from hard, cold copper and steel.
I don’t rest for long. Sleep sometimes doesn’t come easy, when too many ideas get me fired up back into the workshop to starting something new.
