First time experience with Wings over whales - amazing. We did this tour during our Christmas road trip and having great sunny day with no wind - great experience. We had the plane for ourselves group of 4 and the pilot was really friendly and helpful. Nice and safe flight, visibility on 2 sperm whales was awesome. And the views on mountains and Kaikoura from the air - spectacular. Safety briefing with really clear English - so we as non native speakers understood everything. Smooth check-in, boarding. Enough space for parking, coffee and some snacks available in the main building. Lots of information boards inside the waiting hall. Reasonable pricing per person. Recommend to anyone on nice day and would bring my family there again.
I booked the plane experience for a reasonable price with my children, aged 2, 14 and 18. From the moment we walked through the door, every person was friendly, helpful and it didn't phase them that my 2 year old was being a 2 year old. It is obvious that they are passionate about what they do, and we loved that! We were told that they cannot guarantee a sighting, however they definitely tried their best and we saw several dolphins and a beautiful sperm whale! Highly recommended, all of the kids raved about the experience
This is an amazing experience. We were meant to do a boat trip but it got cancelled and this was so much better! The plane on its own is an experience, the pilot was great and so friendly. She spent time making sure everyone was happy with what they saw and we had a great time. I would just recommend a travel sickness tablet before because I felt quite nauseous with the tight turns.
We had such an amazing experience in kaikoura with wings over whales company. They Deserved more than a 5 star ratings! Exceptional service and They want their to be go home happy. They tried their best to give the best service as they can! A big high five to our Pilot Mike! He is an amazing Pilot and very knowledgeable in the Area. To sum up our Kaikoura trip we would say, It’s an Extra Special Day! and we love to come back soon with more friends
Everyone at Wings over Whales was so friendly and helpful. Monique was lovely and picked me up and dropped me off before and after the flight. Emily was a great pilot and answered all my whale questions. I would definitely fly with them again.
In fact, it was a tour that we chose as the next best option because our ship was canceled. But our choice had no regrets. We were able to see the magnificent scenery of Kaikoura as well as large whales and dolphins. My family will never forget that time. The staff were as kind as they could have been and did their best to show us more.
Great flight to catch the whales. Our pilot Emily is very friendly and knowledgeable to share knowledge of the whales and habitat with us. Flight was great with not much issue for our kids 2,4,7. Pricing is reasonable. Definitely recommended
Professional staff help ease everyone's anxiety. They were kind and gentle with me I am overweight and worried the seatbelt wouldn't do up. They were also kind with those just anxious about flying in general. Unforgettable experience
Wow, every aspect was so well planned and executed. From the check in, introduction and safety briefing to the flight experience. We felt so welcomed and safe and a lot excited. The pilots ensured every passenger had a perfect view of the whale who made an appearance and the dolphins too. Such an amazing perspective of these majestic animals.
