Story

Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is a wildlife park and nature reserve in Christchurch, New Zealand.
As well as having public displays of various animal species it also carries out conservation of native species including tuatara, kiwi, brown teal, and duvaucel's gecko. Willowbank also holds the only pair of takahē on display in the South Island of New Zealand outside a Department of Conservation facility.

Place was really packed when I visited last year, but was fun nevertheless. A good mix of exotic and native animals. Can spend an hour or two here no problem. There are activities for kids if you have them.
Been there years ago and enjoyed every minute of the Maori experience with a friend. Still a talking point in conversations. Hopefully I will be able to be back soon.
Stunning winter's day with half of ChCh! Plenty of room to move around though. Baby animals in the Farmyard were a delight! Had the greatest kiwi experience having it rustle along the fence line beside us along most of the exhibit. Very cool! Food in the cafe was yummy and pretty good range to choose from.
Great place for family day out with children. They even have magic shows at 11am and 1am. Children can feed the eels or farm animals$3 for food$Highly recommended.
Really good family fun place. Got to see a Kiwi bird finally. In Jan 2020 they had a magic show going on in addition to the huge variety of wildlife. The place is well maintained and the animals are well looked after. Enjoyable day out.

Amazing place to visit and take the family. Can’t rate it high enough. And with the added bonus of the school holiday entertainment, just fantastic.
Love this place. We are locals and regularly ear in the Cafe as lovely food and enjoy seeing the animals
