Wildlight BOTSWANA departures are open to all level photographers.
With an emphasis on knowledge, sharing our priorities ensure an extended time in the field: allowing photographic opportunities to develop and giving you, the photographer, the exposure & environment to achieve your vision.

Your support team consists of a team of professional photographers / ecological guides: Dean Fitzpatrick, Des Pretorius, Chris McLennan and Colin Dandridge.

Wildlight photographic Safaris offer scheduled departure dates for individual photographers. For groups of 4 or more we can set up additional departures.

ITINERARY:

Day 1 - 3 Xakanaxa: Moremi Game Reserve. Okavango Delta.
Fly into Xakanaxa from Maun, Botswana.

Day 4 – 7 Khwai River: Moremi game Reserve, Okavango Delta.

Day 8 - 9 Savute: Central Chobe National Park

Day 10 Onward travel, transfer by air from Savute to Kasane


Xakanaxa
Lying in the heart of the Moremi game reserve. With beautiful ebony woodlands skirted by lush flood plains and dotted by seasonal and permanent lagoons Xakanaxa region is renowned as one of the best game viewing areas in Botswana. , Hyena, Hippo, Sable Antelope, Wildebeest, Kudu, and many more predator and antelope are resident. Most of Botswana’s 550 birds have been observed here, including Pel’s Fishing Owl and the Slaty Egret.

Khwai River
Khwai River marks the Northern most boundary of Moremi game Reserve. The location of Khwai makes it a regular host to Hippos, Giraffe, and Wilder beast, Waterbuck, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Wild Dogs. Birdlife abounds, with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors.
Khwai affords large Vistas, bank-to-bank views of the river and an interesting array of backdrops that include a forest of dead trees and one of Africans icons the camel thorn Acacia.

Savute
Savute channel and marsh offer a completely different perspective to the lush Okavango delta. Savute is famous for its large population of bull Elephant, and the notorious Savute Lion pride. During October/November the conditions are extreme forcing close interaction between predator & prey. A favorite destination of many wildlife photographers savute promises some fantastic action opportunities and will always delivers.
For 28 years the Savute Channel, had run dry, in 2010 with conditions perfect, flood waters once again engulfed the channel and marsh.

Savute has awoken; lush, beautiful and abounding in wildlife.

TANZANIA EXPEDITIONS
JULY/AUGUST
North Serengeti, on the banks of the Mara River...
During July the Wilde beest migration comes to the area. Be there to witness the crossing of the Mara River of thousands & thousands Wildebeest..


NAMIBIA EXPEDITIONS

Our expeditions to Namibia cover Damara Land, the coastal land and the Naukluft park with its amazing sanddunes. Our groups are small, 2-4 people, and often our clients combine a Namibia photographic expedition with the Botswana one.
