A great experience.nnTravelled for 2 weeks with 4 people in the King/Twin for 4. Van wasn’t the newest and had 100,000km on the clock but drove well and was clean and tidy inside.nnHad some very minor issues like a dicky door latch etc but nothing that hindered the trip.nLayout inside suited us well and allowed the parents to close the rear door from the kids at night. Plenty of space in the rear compartment for 4 large suitcases and more.nnI’d knock a half star off if just for the price being a little higher than other places but you know that going in and they offered a unique van layout so choices are limited.nnStaff were good and drop off/pick up was easy.
Highly recommend Wilderness motorhomes. Great service from first contact. Great vans. Great support service and really make you feel your part of the family. We spent 29 nights in the double for two, we did 4,960klm on just the south Island. Could sleep 4 but perfect for us as a couple with such a long trip was ideal. Having a seperate toilet to shower and a permanent bed really appreciated. We loved the options having the van over a car and hotels gave us. Weather was bad everywhere except north west so we went there. Highly recommend using Rankers, Campermate and Campable to find places to stay. Stayng at Milford lodge in the van is fantastic. Loved every minute
First time user of a motorhome and what a great choice we made. Our model was big enough for the two of us and convenient in its use. Loved the central heating! Easy driving due to its size and enough grunt to tackle winding roads. If we would make one comment it would be to have all doors better secured against rattling. Placing some simple self stick rubberpads on the doors ensures a more tighter lock and it will prevent further rattling.
We rented the Compact Plus for an 11-day road trip around New Zealand's South Island, and it was the perfect choice for our first motorhome adventure. Although we were initially nervous about handling a motorhome, those worries quickly disappeared. The team was fantastic—friendly, professional, and always just a phone call away whenever we needed assistance.nnThe motorhome itself was pure luxury. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, the kitchen made cooking effortless, and the spacious interior had all the creature comforts we could ask for and more!. The central heating was a game-changer on those chilly nights, and driving was surprisingly easy—we often forgot how large our vehicle was!nnAll instructions provided were clear and easy to follow, which made the whole experience stress-free. We’re already planning our next motorhome trip and can’t recommend this experience enough!
Best customer service ever experienced from booking to return of motorhome at the end of 3 weeks. Attention to detail was exceptional. From website design and information to assist planning to phone and email communication supporting throughout the entire rental period. Quality and comfort of the motorhome was excellent. I could not recommend Wilderness more highly. We will defiantly book another motorhome with Wilderness.
