We found Ruapuke Camp to meet all our expectations. Our family 6 adults+ 4 children absolutely enjoyed ourselves. Once our camp was set up our children ranging from 5-9 years of age felt safe enough to explore the entire camp grounds together by themselves without parental supervision. They specially enjoyed feeding the eels and walks to the pond. There are campsites to suit everyone's needs near or further from the facilities that the camp offers. The facilities accommodated our needs even as big as our family is its all about timing ⏰ when it comes to using the facilities folks thumbs We were impressed with these areas ie showers/toilet/kitchen areas were always clean by whom I nick named 'mama bear' and the male figures always in behind supporting. The whole team goes above and beyond to give campers a good experience. We also advantage of trips to the beach which is a 15min walk or 2 min drive. The lookout is amazing. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back again for the 3rd time. Good job to Team at Ruapuke.
Amazing afternoon ride with Wayne and the team. Epic scenery and great hosts. The horses were in great condition and well behaved. We stayed at one of the cabins on site as well and it was awesome as well. Such a magic spot. Highly recommended!

The best horse trip I have ever done. Bushwacking on the horse through what felt like a jungle to European, gorgeous views, ridding a horse through ocean! And running on horses on the beach! Wow! Friendly owners and really calm happy looking horses:.

This was an amazing day, so much fun my mum and I had such an amazing time here, the people were so friendly and welcoming and it's a lovely family run place and you could clearly see how much they love and care for their beautiful horses. The Scenery was stunning from the bush walk and waterfalls to the amazing view from high up on the hill before you walk down to the water. If you Want an amazing day out that you will not forget I highly recommend this place!!! I so will be going back again!!!
If you’re looking for a place to have a one on a lifetime experience, don’t look any further. I’ve been riding all my life and have done many horse trails, this is by far the best ride i’ve been on. The staff is kind, friendly and patient. They make sure you have a safe and enjoyable ride. The horses are also amazing and my partner and I were given horses that matched our riding levels. The landscapes are breathtaking. We had Ruapuke beach all to ourselves and brought back pictures that we will be looking at for a long time. Just amazing ! Thank you again for the amazing ride !
Wonderful location and great horse ride. We stayed in one of the cabins - beautiful, private & peaceful setting, completely off the grid. A well run business, really friendly people. Thanks Penny and Wayne.
Very nice part of new Zealand and an amazing beach. However it is not for the faint of heart the drive in can be very sketchy and very hard if it has been raining as of a narrow gravil road that if a car going to fast towards you will take you out and even though I didn't come across one a camper van or car towing a caravan will have just stopped everything as their is no place to pull over to let it pass and the camp ground is up there.
Definitely the best way to experience the NZ nature, don't miss it if you're in the area. Spectacular beach and nature, great horses, friendly people. Perfect both for experienced riders or beginners. Highlight of our NZ trip. We'll be back!
