My mother went to weltec in the IT field. She's a stay at home mum who immigrated from India at a young age, and after years of taking care of two kids, she finally mustered up the courage to try something new. Clement Swarnappa was her teacher, although he had more than just the course to comment about as he was telling her she should go back to her home and stay as a home keeper rather than coming to weltec to study his course. Instead of being a teacher and helping her he told her to go home and take care of her kids and home and not waste her time trying to study. I understand she might be behind and struggle but that gives no one the right to say such things. He also told her to go get help at home by her husband and kids for her course work that HE assigned when she was struggling and apparently refused to help her with her work at all. Telling her to go seek help from her husband and kids is a very small minded, backwards and honestly sick. I hope he knows he broke a kind soul and failed the one job he had. I will never understand why someone can be so cruel and how you can be so easy to pick and choose who you want to teach or bully in your classroom. I just hope no one is currently being put under the same treatment as my mum went through.
Lovely tutors, great buildings and heaps of books and computers. Also has yummy food in the café. I am currently doing the diploma is enrolled nursing and am really enjoying the course. I especially like that there is a lab which actually looks like a hospital ward so you get to have experience in the environment that nurses work in.
Had a lovely young lady called Molly who did a wash and blow wave Lovely manners completed what I asked for. Going back in a few weeks for colour
Great compound, great place for students to learn, Great working environment and lots of free parking for students and staff. Very handy to shops including the warehouse just across the street.
It was really good and easy to get to in Porirua handy to the Porirua mega centre and mitre 10
Whitireia is a very good place to study. My tutors were very supportive and helped me a lot and my classmates were all accepting to me. I’d definitely recommend Whitireia if you’re looking for a polytechnic to study at
Great, lively and modern. Good atmosphere for people who are looking at studying there. Near to public transport and shop's. Plenty of car parking too.
I am currently studying here and what I can say is that the services that they provide here for the students are remarkable. International students are very much welcomed here too.
Started level 1 certificate in Te Reo Maori tonight. Really enjoyed the first night. Plenty of teachers, who were encouraging and supportive.
I opened an antique wardrobe in my grandmother's attic which somehow has a dense forrest inside of it, well I pushed my way through the wood and this place is waiting for me on the another side. Very friendly people there.
