I wanted to explore the more challenging trails. They’re very well built and great fun, but some points to note:nNeither the park maps nor Trailforks match reality - there are trails marked which I couldn’t find, and others that I rode which appear on no map.nThe climb to the summit is steep. Like, I hit over 1,000W on some of the pinch climbs steep. I was on my XC bike, but an Enduro will find it a challenge.nDefinitely worth a visit if you’re fit, skilled and confident.nThe kids’ area at the bottom looked great for families - but I’m not the one to review that.
Pleasant experience. Biking around the park was enjoyable, despite the bikes being a bit worn. However, we appreciated having them available! Gardening with the volunteers was a highlight and meeting the local lady who dedicates her time to make this park beautiful made the visit even more special.
Beautiful location for the whole family. Lots of great activities, such as petanque, disk golf, playgrounds.nnSad to see no one else there! Great intro into mountain biking, with trails for all ability levels.nnEverything is maintained and run by volunteers, so please donate if you can!
What an incredible spot. Well maintained, obviously with love and dog friendly!nWe did a couple of the walking tracks and wandered around the lower lying tracks.nVery cool spot.
My favourite place in Whitianga. Great fun for the whole family. Lots of tracks for biking, from toddler’s trike tracks all the way up to experienced mountain bikers and bmx riders.nIf you don’t have a bike there are a range to borrow for free, helmets too.nnGreat picnic areas, bbqs supplied just bring your own gas bottle.nEnjoy nice garden strolls with flowers and features to see and bush walks too. Amazing view of Whitianga from Hewie’s lookout at the top of the hill.nRemember to bring a cold coin donation
