Whisky Galore

Absolutely fantastic. Well looked after by Daniel. Grabbed a couple of rarities and hard to find, in Australia, from them. Enjoyed some Kilchoman tastings. It was the only place I was really looking forward to in Christchurch and I wasn’t let down.

An excellent whiskey shop. Selling both major retailers and independent whiskey brewers. They have tastings regularly which can join in to when you get their newsletter. The stock ranges from the reasonably inexpensive to the very expensive. Definitely worthwhile checking out.

This place has amazing drinks - for good prices too - but the thing that makes them stand out is their knowledgeable team. A massive thanks to Daniel for all his help! I recently bought a nice whiskey as a gift from here. There was a slight pricing issue on their website, and they were so courteous about it. They gave me a call to discuss, and gave me several options to resolve it. I asked for them to send me the details via email. The email came through with some incredible alternatives. Shipping was so fast, it came beautifully wrapped, and the whole experience surpassed my expectations.

The premier whisky store in New Zealand by a country mile. The owner is from Scotland and whisky-lovers across New Zealand pray daily that he stays here at the helm of this fantastic business! These guys know whisky and have outstanding stock at competitive prices. They have all the good stuff - from name-brands to the weird, wonderful, and rare. The staff are friendly and helpful to the uninitiated and and snobs alike. They also run a bunch of tastings which sell out fast!

One of, if not the best whisky store in New Zealand. Had a free tasting of Firkin, was knowledgeable with quality whiskys. If your in Christchurch it is well worth the visit.

Fantastic knowledgeable staff. The Scottish lady who looked after us was absolutely brilliant, so kind even though we were absolute novices and so patient. By far the best service I’ve ever gotten at a liquor shop. We got to do some tastings and were taught the main differences between whiskeys. Lovely experience and will be back if we ever go to Christchurch again. I hope she sees this and if you do, come visit me on Waiheke!

Best bottle shop ever, been nicely contributing to my ever growing collection! Guys import some unique stuff not just for NZ though for AU too! Highly recommend becoming a member free and keeping an eye on their mew imports and always awesome stock lost!
