We had a really lovely stay at Whangateau. The price was really reasonable, the site was flat, and the facilities were excellent. The office staff were really helpful, and we thought it was one of the best we stayed at on a short family campervan trip. We also liked being able to walk around the harbour at low tide, and loved having a nice view from the site. All in all, highly recommended!
Booked a cabin for 1 night, clean, queen bed was comfy. Paid $150 for 2 adults, 1 child. Only bottom sheet supplied, jug, fridge & toaster but nothing else as advertised A pain really. Showers were pitiful but they had sent out a water restriction email. For the price could have got air bnb that would have had all the amenities for $170
One of our favs, super friendly staff and the camp site is super clean and tidy. Can be a little windy but doesnt take away from the experience. Super close to Matakana so access to shops in case you forgot the important stuff!
Absolutely amazing camp ground, with awesome views and location. Very clean and well maintained, with all the mod con's. They are well equipped in the kitchen with BBQS the family room a park for children and a giant chessboard. Excellent friendly customer service.
Look love it here great facilities good base to get around the Kaipara peninsula etc only gripe the campsite fees doubled in 12 months from $21 to $46
Very nice place and awesome staff, specially the maintenance guy I believe, been there for motorcycle rally, loved it
It is a nice spot I stayed in a caravan.I liked it when it's not busy or full
Fantastic venue. Always clean and well maintained by friendly staff who stop by for a quick chat as they unobtrusively get their tasks completed. Great seaside experience for the kids in the relatively shallow tidal flats bring your own water toys or hire from the front office. Website is a good guide.
Very nice place to be one of our favourites we go there every year, good for the kids. They make friends and hang out together. Nice clean water, good seeming place. Facilities great, nice clean bath room& kitchen.. Will go back there this year after Christmas..
What a great spot. Lovely, well appointed and cared for campground right on the waterfront. Bring your kids, your kayaks, your paddle boards and you'll have a blast. Close to Goat Island/Omaha/Matakana etc for things to do but you can easily spend your days happily at the campground - swimming and exploring or relaxing. The kitchen facilities are well set up and generous - the BBQs and fridges were great and the entire campground is so clean thanks to the hardworking and friendly staff.
