This page is the official Notice Board of the Whangaroa Community Pool.
The Whangaroa Community Pool Life Guarding team are proud to bring a Notice Board that will advise everyone of all Pool related events, pool user responsibilities, important notices and opening days/times.
About our Community Pool
It is managed by the Whangaroa Recreation Centre and Community Trust,
Funding comes from two streams;
The Far North District Council, and
Pool user fees
A “Deed of Pool user rights” exists between the Community Trust and Whangaroa College. This Deed gives priority use to:
The Community outside of normal school days and times, where the Life Guards manage and co-ordinate pool use.
Whangaroa College during normal school days and times, where the college manages and co-ordinates pool use.
Life Guarded sessions:
During Community time, a qualified Life Guard will open the pool and monitor pool use. No Life Guard = No swim
About our Life Guards
All our Life Guards are volunteers from the community, who have passed Police Vetting and have been deemed to be of suitable character and maturity for this very important position. This team of trained, qualified and committed volunteers give up time from their families and work to ensure that our community has access to one of its best resources during the swimming season.
