A lovely children's playground plus walkway/path along river. Lots of shops and eateries to choose from. Art gallery and a separate hand blown glass shop/ showroom all free of charge. A clock gallery with lots of interesting clocks, there us a cover charge. Outdoor massive sun dial and a enclosed mechanical clock with moving parts and large balls that drop on the hour. Worth a visit. The boats, yatchs moored in the town basin makes this area special. As always some boat coming and going to watch.
A great place to spend spare time walking between the buildings and the boats.nColourful and vibrant with tourists looking at the sights and buying food. I expected the food at the restaurant I chose to buy lunch at to cost more.nClapham's Clock Museum is a must-see.nWell maintained public toilets.nParking the car nearby can be a problem, some is pay parking, and some 2 hour.
We spend 4-5 months at Town Basin Marina each year. We have done this for the past 6 years now, and it feels like home. You couldn't ask for a nicer place to have your boat. We can walk to groceries, boat shops, yoga and plates classes, restaurants, and a nearby pottery studio! The scenery is beautiful. There is a 3km walking loop around the marina that we use almost daily. This place is magical. The Marina workers have become great friends. Whagarei, we love it here!
Beautiful place - playground is much fun and the art in Reyburn house always worth a visit - many options re cafes/restaurants/ice cream shop in a beautiful setting by the water and boats - you can walk the loop although not much shade for most of it - there is also glass blowing demonstrations as well as some gorgeous gift shops
Good variety of eating establishments. Great views. Really relaxing environment. Great out look onto the boats and marina. Kids playground nearby. Kick back and relax
