A pleasant surprise to pump into this tour. Prior to the tour, we were explained in detail where we would be visiting, price, and length of tour together with safety instructions. The weather was perfect, and we really enjoyed the ride and serious pose.
Nice during the day, lots of parking and a nice little cafe during business hours. Plenty of info and friendly staff of course. I've overnighted here in the past and although allowed it can be dangerous. Better to find a campground
Great food caravan parked there. They used to have a cafe there but you had to be well off to afford the tucker.
Great info center. There is usually a mobile coffee/ kiosk parked outside. Toilet facilities, a place to get out and stretch your legs and the dogs legs in the middle of a long trip.
I always stop in whangarei on My way to the far north, I'm sure it's common for most passing through heading further north or returning to South. There's a good bakery I stop at to refuel, though I don't know the name.. for me personally it's a decent town to grab a bite and stretch before driving.
