The Whangarei Deep Sea Anglers Club is an aquatic social club based at Tutukaka Northland New Zealand.
WELCOME to the Whangarei Deep Sea Anglers Club, at the heart of the Tutukaka Coast - where you can sit on the deck with family and friends and enjoy a cool drink, and/or a meal, in the afternoon sun.
Our Club is situated on a 220 berth Marina at Tutukaka and is one of the longest established and most successful Gamefishing Clubs in New Zealand. The Club has an enviable fishing record with many National and World records having been captured in the waters off Tutukaka including the all tackle World Record Striped Marlin of 224.1kg - Tutukaka can justifiably claim to be the “Home of the Striped Marlin”! Our Clubrooms (known as the Tutukaka Club) boast a wealth of history in terms of old fishing paraphernalia, photographs, trophies and a range of fish mounts from Marlin through to Snapper and Gurnard. The Club actively encourages visitors including “Holiday-makers”, School field trips, Tourist groups, visiting overseas boats etc., and is able to provide some very knowledgeable “tour guides”.
We don’t just concentrate on fishing, though that is a major part of the club over the summer months when we hold a number of great fishing tournaments for all to enjoy. We also hold a wide range of exciting events & entertainment for young and old with regular features including Pool Club nights, Friday night lucky draws, Sports on SKY, Trivia (run fortnightly over the winter months), Bathurst Day (for those petrol-heads out there). Over the winter, we like to provide an escape from the “winter blues” - the warmth of a fire, super meals from our Bistro (including kids meals of course) and much more……..
Whilst Fishing continues to be a major focus for the Whangarei Deep Sea Anglers Club, over more recent years it has moved towards being a “Family Club” attempting to attract families and encourage younger people to take an interest not only in the sport of fishing but becoming actively involved in belonging to a Club - taking part in special events, working bees and having the opportunity to provide input into what happens around their Club.
As an affiliated member of the NZSFC, we fully support and strive to uphold the Mission to promote and provide education, participation and pathways to sustainable marine fishing for all Kiwis.
You are welcome to join our club and have full use of our facilities, and have reciprocal visiting rights to many fishing clubs around the world. We have all sorts of membership options available, from as little as $40 per year!!
